Will be a long term project for sure unless anyone wants to donate to the cause.

We have a completely rebuilt dressed up 350 w/ transmission and ignition system sitting on a stand just waiting for something. And its a nice shade of blue.

Was also given a ford 9" rear end that needs cut down. And we are working on a front end from a friend.

The rest of the car we want to keep as classy as possible. Just want to make it reliable and safe.

Cool project!  Where have I seen this before?  OH LILLY.... looks like something in Hermans N Grampa's garage.

Welcome to FP. A couple of fellow POCI chapter members of mine own a '35 and '38. Another just sold his '29. I can't say I know anyone who owns a '31.

I can't wait to see what you do with this. Welcome aboard.

The hard thing is with this particular car is what do we do with original engine. Its not like the 1930s fords or Chevy's where they are easier to find.

If this is a rare find, would it be worth more to save the original driveline. Or is it just as valuable with the setup we have waiting for it?

I would say save the original driveline.  Get it running on a stand and keep it for eye candy in the garage.

Beautiful ride.

:welcome: Wow! That looks like quite a project you got there cowboydanny! I am so happy to see that you're putting in that beautiful metallic blue motor and keeping the '31 pure Pontiac. :dancingpontiac:

So the interior is in shreds. Original color was gold. But for the most part everything else is here. All the door handles are here and work, all 7 windows crank down although only one has glass rest are gone. And windshield cranks up 2". The original ash trays are still in place, as are the back window shades and the rope tastles for holding onto around hairpin turns are in tact as well. We are missing the enamel pontiac emblem on the front of radiator but have the matching one on dash and the chieftain rad cap.

Very cool, always wanted to do a 30's vintage definitely a labor of love.

I've drooled over this '32 for several years now;

Heres a link to a '31 5 window project of a fellow PY member.

Just posting it as a motivator ;)

Just picked up the correct rad cap for the 31', ouch $$$! It sucks that people collect these as art pieces because it drives up the price. But on the other hand if they didn't it would have been a lot harder to find one in this good of shape

Project update:

We are going to keep the stock front end and remove the drums and replace with rotors. Just need to build a custom bracket for the calipers.

Had to buy an entire radiator shroud just to get the missing Pontiac badge. I wish the shroud was i. Better shape than my original but just glad to have the badge finally.

Also picked up a limited slip ten bolt with disc brakes for trade of the 9" i was going to cut down. Saved myself a bundle of money and time on this deal.

We have the old engine out. And fenders off. Next step is to fit the 350 and box the frame. Then I need to figure out the steering. We also decided to put a reclaimed maple floor inside.
