Heading to the Baker show last weekend, I went to adjust my outside mirror which broke off in my hand.  After searching online they are are $70 on average.  Have ordered the repop before and had to send it back as it wasn't tall enought.  Seems Ames, OPGI N such all have the same mirror.  Had a brain fart N remembered my buddy Barry @ Sonic Motors.  He has 2 shops full of everything Pontiac.  New and used.  Have bought alot of missing pieces from him during my build.  Barry said,  Yea, I have the repops, but they are correct.  So I cruised the GTO out to his warehouse.  Sure enough, wrong mirror.  Maybe someone mounted yours in the wrong position and It needs to be back behind the pillar for the vent.  But checking his extensive collection of doors, my position at the front of the vent window is correct for 66 - 67. 65 is back at the piller and some 64's are mounted on the fender above the emblem. I spend hours looking at GTO's online last night. Went looking at the cars he had out back in the yard and found a square mirror instead of round but had the same base as the one that broke on me.  He gave it to me and the head transfered to my base.  Prob solved for now.  In searching his warehouse he moved a box and I was floored to find the chrome trim to my tail lights.  OMG  Nearly $200 in the catalogs. He offered them to me NEW  for  almost half the price.  This is the last missing trim/parts to complete the GTO after nearly 15 years of searching. (this is what happens when you start with a stripped shell dedicated to bracket racing) Heading back out there Monday to grab them.   When we direct people in their parts search, I always forget Barry. He runs all this by himself!!!!   You can contact him @ *****@*****.tld.  phone # 810 750 7440    PONTIAC ...Any year 80's back, any part, he is worth the chance he has what you need.  Guess I can't forward his Email.

Sounds like a great score JUSTA, and an even better friend.

Talked with Joe last night.  Barry has 5-6 at least, body's of your Early 70's Lemans.  Didn't get anywhere near them, but he mentioned he was gonna junk em all.  Told Joe, as he needs that side molding. He is making a trip to Norwalk just to pickup that piece of trim from a guy. (Seems like I've had my eye open for a decklid for Lucy for years.)   When we were talkin about it @ Bakers, I thought he was going down there to race.  He would have been your go to for a replacement steering column.  I take it you didn't go to the show with the club today.  I was, but have too much to do in the garage.  Have much cleaning/polishing of Sunbird parts to be ready to paint when the block comes home.

I would like a new or used rust free deck lid for Lucy to mount a rear spoiler to it, if he has one.

Justa sayin, he has a # of them out back he plans to junk out. Poss a good deal on restorable lid.  Condition???  Never got close enough to look at what he has or even if they had decklids on em.  Good stuff is stored inside.  He probably has one.  His warehouse is in Fenton right off 23.  His home with the amazing barn and storage buildings is very close to Joe on Hickory Ridge.

Fenton is about 20 minutes away. How do I get a hold of him? Do you and I need to show up at his place?

Frosty, if you go out there can you see if he's got a woodrim steering wheel to suit my 65? Or indeed, if there are any 65 Cats or anything out there? Front bumper, dashpad...there's still a few items to properly complete my car.

His phone number is in my original post.  But here it is again.  810 750 1421.   Site will not let me post his email.  Search...Sonic Motors Holly Mi.

Fitzy ....Standing in his office, there were 3 steering wheels wrapped in bubble wrap.  Have no idea what they were. There was a Cat I saw, but was maybe 69-70.  Didn't pay attention.  He has emptied 70% of his yard from what he had.   Post a detailed list for me.  I will be heading out there Monday for the tail light trim.  Frosty,  72 deck lid the only thing you need?  You need to call him before you go. He could be working out of either place,  he will tell you when he will be where and where your parts will be. Kiwi?? Wrongway???  Anybody else?  I can leave him a list and have him get back with me on what he has.  Make sure I know your car, year and anything else you might need to order parts.  If he has what you need/want at a price you can accept, you can contact him about pic's of the part and you can finish your deal, shipping ect with him.

Yes please bro, I'm looking for the front fender extension for the driver's side, I would take both if he has them but

I'm missing the driver's side completely. Also, a front bumper that's not twisted. Thank you

Thanks JustA - I think I'll stick with the woodrim steering wheel right now. 1965 Grand Prix. The horn mechanism doesn't have to be intact or anything - as long as it slides onto my column. If it's a Grant wheel, there'll be an adapting boss to go with it. See how you go. It certainly isn't critical, so don't waste too much of your own time dicking about with it. You have enough of your own dramas to wade through.

Which spoiler do you intend to use?  The pedestal or the Trans Am 3 piece style??

Made the trip to Sonic Motors and picked up the chrome tail light trim for the GTO today.  This was the last remaining missing pieces that has now taken me 15years to find.  Whatta journey.  Paint to finish the restoration. Now I was checking on parts for a few here.  72 decklid,  Barry has many to choose from in various conditions.

63 GP... No bumper, but he has a couple places to check for you.  He is sure he has fender extensions, but needs a picture of what you have/need.

65 GP....  He has steering wheel you want, but prices are very steep.  All Pontiac woodrim wheels fit all big model Pontiac's. Including the GTO.   Knockoff wheels are even stupid expensive.  Up to you on what you have to give up to afford one.

Thx Justa, I sent you a message bro. Glad you finally found that trim man. Guess you need to find a new treasure to hunt!

Ya, someplace to paint the GTO.  Nothin crazy, happy for a 1 step enamel.  Living on dirt roads, paint is waaay to expensive anymore to mess up with dirt in it.  All my buddies that we have done this stuff our whole lives are ALL suffering from lung probs ect.  Too much bondo dust N paint fumes, but memories of good times that will never be forgotten.  Can't even get one to let me rent their garage.  They are all set up with every tool you could need from body to paint, wasting away.

Man that sucks. I remember painting my first car indoors, I rented a storage unit and tarped the floor. Set box fans under the door for ventilation and let her rip! It actually turned out pretty well  I will say that going from a rattle can to a paint gun was a huge learning curve!

Hey Justa, I did get to reach out to Barry this evening. I figured he would be gone by the time I came in so I sent him an email with pics. Thanks again bud.

So are you wanting to justa reshoot the GTO or take her down to metal?

Need to take er down.  While most of it doesn't look that bad. (scratches from when I had it all apart)  There are a couple spots that you can justa pick the paint off with your fingernail. Paint is waay to thick.  There are spots that look like rust bubbling up, but it's justa the paint lifting. Rustoleum Red is a very close match so you really don't see it unless your close.  Really don't expect too much body work, but we all know how that rolls.  Getting nervous about the Sunbird motor, Not hearing anything, took the heads in over a week ago and they were only waiting on piston rings.  GTO wasn't suppose to be on the road this summer.  Show some LOVE to the Bird and get er back on the road N have some fun this summer.

Not sure if it will help or not bro or if you have the room but... My wife and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary in Nov. and she justa bought a big canopy. It's 10x30 with 8 removable walls. She said she paid less than $150 with shipping on amazon. I can send you a link if you'd like. Once we're done with it, I'm actually going to convert it into a paint booth for the bigger stuff the won't fit into my one car garage. Justa thought bro.

There are portable paint booths.  They inflate with ventilation built in.  You add lighting.  Have not checked the rental company's.

This is the cheapest one that I saw on 1st look.  They get much more expensive.
