Don’t baked beans generate methane gas? So it sounds like a deal to me!

Never made it to the garage to install the coil on the GTO, JustaG6's Jeep is acting up again so I am having to pick her up from work everyday. Now looking for a replacement.  Can't have this with twins on the way.   In all the searching on Craigslist N Marketplace, I stumbled across a nice upgrade for my truck.  In talks with this guy this afternoon.  She may be driving my truck until we find her a GMC Terrain. Mini me for the bosses GMC Acadia.  Seems like we know a guy that has a son in the car business???

I'd rather eat the baked beans then to be seen driving a Prius home from the steak house. Justa say'in .

I totally agree! I know dignity is over rated but how little dignity do you have to have to actually drive a Prius?

Oh hi Fitzy!

For some reason I keep thinking of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon called “What’s Opera Doc” and the Kill th Wabbit song that Elmer Fudd sings. Now it seems like

Kill the Prius

Kill the Prius

  • 4 weeks later...

So had to sneek out to the garage when the wife went to the store a couple weeks ago, but replaced the coil, managed to get in the GTO and it fired right up.  BUT now it smoking with oil or trans fluid hitting the header.  So the last chance to take it out today went down the drain.  Must have left the key on too long while pushing it around and changing positions in the garage.   SMOKIN....

Notice the top is melted off?

Finished cleaning my Ol Ranger 4X4.  Sad day but time to pass it on as I got a new to me full size truck again.

New truck must have a 35 gal tank.  Let it run down before filling and it took 32 gal. Trump has to win!  Harris couldn't give a frack!!!  The new one is Justa 6 as well.  3.7 ecoboost without turbo.   This damn thing squaks the tires from a roll w/traction control on!  Needs 4X4 tires, but to replace the 20"s with Off Road shoes is $x$......WOW.  Guess I'll be wearing out these street treads 1st.  Already have 3 people interested in the Ranger.  Won't even have to list it.

Got back from an Alaska Cruise, then took the 64 to Hershey for 5 days great Time !! Then I get home and my Goodguys Gazette

is there with coverage from the Columbus Nationals and see a Picture of my Bonneville and a little mention!! WoW that never happens, but does an old man good !! 5 minutes of Fame!!

Took the wife's GMC in for an oil change already today.  Used the FREE oil change the Sunbird won as a doorprize at the Labor day show. All synthetic oil and filter.  Good to go for winter.

Wayne - got any recommendations re Alaska cruise? It's on our "gotta do" list. Holland America seem to have a good rep.

No matter which cruise ship you deicide on you MUST take the land tour.  We flew in to Fairbanks and started on the land tour, traveling on train and bus, they dropped us off at the ship.  Simply amazing.  My wife and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  Justa hate to take the same trip twice when there is sooo much to see N do out there.

Thanks JustA - I'll add it to the Tits And Lobster Tour.

I thought I'd add an appropriate comment since this is the Doing Stuff To Your Car thread. Today, I dug the Carter out of the shed (after having soaked the accelerator pump plunger in auto fluid for 24 hours) and refitted it. Tested it in situ with fuel in the bowls and an instant healthy squirt of fuel from both nozzles. As long as it doesn't dry out, it might hold together. Bolted it back in, wiped the nice thick coating of dust off the car, fired her up and took her for a burn. Goes really well. Oh, and I had to change the fan belt. Unusually, the Gates belt had begun to unravel after only a few thousand miles. Never mind - had a spare in the trunk. Done.

Nice to be home mate ?

Yes & no. After 4 weeks of somebody else making the bed, making coffees, serving every meal and washing all the dishes, reality came rushing back pretty damn fast. However, not having to pay for every single thing you do is a welcome change. It's considerably warmer here than when we left a month ago - not too hot yet. Nice to be able to turn the shower off and not freeze to death instantly!

Fuel is a (relative) bargain at $1.69 a litre. I chucked 30 litres of premium in the GP and didn't have to sell a kidney.

Back to work next Tue - now THAT is gonna hurt.
