Last Indian - You forgot his daughter is getting married this month and he's still married. If he's looking for sympathy, sympathy is in the dictionary. It's between shit and syphilis! LOL!

Hey! He’s been very busy! Broke truck, a broke car, oh make that two broke cars , ok make that two broke cars & a son in law broke car! A well pump broke! A tree fell on my garage, I can’t find the right parts, Geessss!

No shaming,  1st time I've missed this show in many years, sounds like participants were down and wondering who was there.  You only mentioned 2 Widetrackers and there are usually 7-8.  Not much for me to take pic's of.  Cleaned polishing the intake to go back on.  Most of wiring harness is hooked up, brackets ect on front of the motor.  Picked up the gasket material last night to make the blower gasket, so hope to get the intake and blower on today.  Still have to mess with the radiator. I've also had a bunch of running for the wedding too.  AND another vet appointment yesterday.  Oz is NOT ready to pack it in yet.  That Dawg is amazing.

Oz is a cool and amazing dawg! It was great to pet him on Woodward.

So went to pull my rad hoses off so I can soak the radiator in the Muratic acid.  Not only were they covered in white powder/minerals.  When I stuck my finger in there to pry some out, hunks of the springs that hold the shape N corners came tumbling out. No prob they deserve to be replaced after 42+ years of service.  Now nobody makes the upper or lower for the Sunbird.  Will have to use the flex universal hoses??  Gotta be kiddin me.  Also checked on a replacement air filter that fits in the Street scoop. $35.00 say what??? For a 6in air filter??  grabbed one "close" off the damn wall for $13.00  have no idea if it will fit yet.  My buds over at Mazza's 2  will let me search the extensive stock of rad hoses tomorrow to see if I can get close to a match or something I can use.

Already checked em....nope.  I did copy these numbers to check when I'm searching what they have in stock. Gates and AC delco and Dayco hoses.  The 2 uppers they offer look very close.  Finding lower hose that will work should be easier.

Searched the inventory of the parts store and found one very close to the lower hose for the radiator. It'll work.  The air filter I grabbed off the wall is a LIL big once bent and inside the scoop, that will work too. Also bought detail paint for the intake.  Spent hours polishing/painting yesterday, but the intake looks good. I can only get what I can of the crap in the water passage. Hitting many areas that have not been accessable for many years.  JustaG6 took some pic's of her car before putting it away for the winter.  This is Indianwood Country Club,  where she will be married next Saturday.

Hated to put the nasty/dirty blower on the clean/polished intake, but "Daddy's home" and now can start cleaning detailing with it on the car.  Pulled the thermostate N the housing is rusted through.  Dug through the spare parts N found one.  Cleaning that up on the wire wheel N it has pin holes as well. Now have to go find another chrome or Billet housing. Still need to find an upper hose for the rad.  Will start the Muratic acid soak in the rad tomorrow.

Yesterday spent more time searching stock for something close to the upper hose I can't find.  Ordered one yesterday that should be in Thurs that looks damn close.  Nothing billet to match my bolt pattern for the thermostate housing.  Ordered a stock one that came in today.  It's not the stock steel, but cast aluminum.  Being stock has the bypass tube that has to be removed. Now thinkin I'll be spending hours of hand/finger sanding/polishing the housing to match up with the rest of the engine.  Wish I was closer to our parts polishing guru, Last Indian. :indian: Valve covers painted/ polished as well as fasteners, Carb body and detail painting done.  Need to touch up paint a few more detail items N finish assembly.  Very lil time til after the wedding now.  Family starts arriving from out of state tomorrow.

Now come on justA ! The boss will have a list as long as your arm of things that have to be done before anyone arrives !

bet she tells ya to get the f out of the garage !

Full list of things to do.  Damn sheep ran away again N the lawn needs mowing.  Hedge trimming and rest of the yardwork.  And that's before lunch.  Have 5 hrs into sanding/polishing the thermostate cover.  Making progress but my fingers N hands have had it.  Last Indian must be a monster to shake hands with.  With all his automotive works of art. I even cheated N used 3 different files to knock down what I could.  I did install a battery backup sump pump for the daughter this AM. She was nervous about leaving for a week after the last time a couple weeks ago, she lost power N the basement flooded.  Took my generator over N hooked her up after the fact so she could clean up the mess and save everything in the fridge/freezer.

Finished polishing the thermostate, finished detail painting, polished the Street Scoop and painted base.  Best chance at an upper radiator hose comes in tomorrow.  Hope I can sneek out N pick it up.  Family and rehearsal dinner is tomorrow.  Did get all my chores done around here today.  Here's a pic of the thermostate from start to last nite, finished polishing today.

My hose came in yesterday, had no time to mess and held it in place, clears the blower snout and distributor, close to the rad hook up but gonna make it work.  Soooo Happy.

I never noticed the V6 logo on the blower drive before. Nice touch!

Give JUSTAG6 a hug for me! I wish her the best on her wedding day! Is Red going to be part of the wedding party?

Nope, She couldn't fit that dress in the car and still see to drive.  :driving:  Red was officially put away for the winter on Wed.  She took it out to the country club to get some pic's with the gate. Indianwood (how fitting) is an amazing place,  Huge wooden beams N stone give the place a true castle like feel right down to suits of armor.  I will pass on the hug N best wishes, Thank You.  I have a mark on the back of the blower pulley, so I can bump it into place and the logo is straight when parking. ESP for indoor shows.  Had to touch up those bolts with all the detail painting. No time for picks. Gotta go load the truck with all the wedding stuff that will need to be set up tomorrow AM.

Had to do something goofy or I would have been cryin like a baby. I haven't slept more than a couple minutes at a time in the last 2 days.  Delivered the last truck load of wedding accessories to her house and was home on the couch by 11:30 am.  Lions won and NHRA drag racing followed, been a good day. Tomorrow it's back to the Sunbird for next weekend.

We've been reading about your engine rebuild for months now - here's hoping she fires up and all the fluids stay in.

I won't be at Sellers, I'm heading to West Virginia this Friday night for the WInfield Cruise In and WV Drag Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday. I'll be heading home on Sunday.

Hope Joe goes, JustaG6 will still be on her honeymoon.  Not sure if Mike will make it with the Rivy.

If we can hook up some night before Friday, you can turn in my regsitration card for 2 out of the three show drawing. Otherwise, we can skip it.

So what's the story on the repair to Mike's Riv?
