I am in Serious Trouble

I order more parts for the Challenger. It’s the last of the cheap mods I suspect. I ordered a new 180 degree thermostat from MotoRad. The are are designed so if they ever fail, it will always fail open, never closed. I also ordered an oil catch can. They are expected to arrive the Tuesday after Labor Day. This is about $60 USD with free shipping from Amazon.

After this will be front and rear strut tower braces and bolt on subframe connectors. Each of these are about $250 and up each. I might also look for a short throw shifter, but again, not cheap. I also need to check the date of the tires. If they are originals, then they are 8 years old and should be replaced for safety reasons. That is an easy $1000-1500.

what’s that old expression?

If it has t*ts or tires, eventually you WILL have problems with it!

your enjoying this mate !!! run with it !

i have kept my cat stock only because i dont have access to parts like you do ! and !!!!! i am more than happy with my 707 at the flywheel !!!

its fun

i give it the respect

so i hope it never hurts me!!!

that sounds dumb, but its a serously wild ride!!

traction is a bigggggg issue !

  • Frosty collected his car this morning. Looks great! You must be so proud.

  • Frosty, you are now retired and with that there is a certain amount of dignity that you need to hang onto. Bumblebee stickers on a purple car screams 'undignified.' Girls will think you're a teenager.

I have just finished applying 5-6 coats of clear coat. Now I am waiting for it to set up and harden.

Don't waste a good tire......1st to the rims with Joe.  Justa sayin.

I look forward to that day. I may have to practice a little. Joe is clearly the master of directly applied undercoating!

I'm not wrecking a quarter panel to win anything..LOL besides cooper cobra's Do not smoke at all. well eventually they do LOL

"Directly applied undercoating"!!   That's funny.  It took me a few days to understand the reference but eventually, my two brain cells figured it out.

Who’s fault is that?

Good to know when I go to buy new rubber for this sucker.

That’s my attitude towards this beast of a ride! I’m not trying to add much in the way of HP, more on dependability and reliability. Low cost or near free things, okay. Big ticket go-and-woo parts, meh.

I definitely want to open her up but I’m still too chicken to be reckless with it.  Next year’s Power Tour could well be the opportunity to open her up some more. I’ll have more seat time in it by then.

Ive already seen guys on YouTube talk about how the stock all season tires on a Scatpack don’t cut it. New stickier rubber is needed. They recommend wider meats to improve traction too. I’m prepared for new tires next year but I’m not ready for new wheels JUSTA yet. I’d like to get the strut bars and subframe connectors first.

I got my new 180 degree thermostat and oil catch can today. I’ll probably install them both this coming weekend.

i think I have come up with a name for this purple people eater. The color is officially called Plum Crazy Purple Pearl. This car is strong and violent. Back in the day, this same color. in Plymouth speak. was called In Violet. Given  this car is violent and violet, I think I am going to name her Violet.

Ya' know Frosty, there used to be an old Dodge color name back in the late 60's that you should consider reviving . . . "Statutory Grape" for your car.  That name might have no relevance to New Zealand legal jurisprudence, but it sure does here in the fifty Colonies.

Interesting idea on the color. Let’s be clear that this color is only a”g” away from what the Michigan Attorney General’s Office would call CSC (criminal s*xual  conduct). I am definitely not going down that rabbit hole! Let’s not forget that in those days, most people didn’t even know that political correctness or double entandra even existed.

Yeah, no thanks. Nice piece of history though.

At worse it reads underage Grape.  We all know not to pick the green ones!

Beeya has an interesting vibe.

Raisins are dried up grapes. What are dried up plums called? Prunes. Not going to go after any prunes, or prune juice jokes either.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up for me. I'm still too chicken to hit the Super Trac Pack button on the dash.

I justa over heard some one use the term “Mean Bee” in a conference call. It was not car related either. Still I think I like that name too.

Mean Bee or Violet? Decisions. Decisions.
