  • Frosty collected his car this morning. Looks great! You must be so proud.

  • Frosty, you are now retired and with that there is a certain amount of dignity that you need to hang onto. Bumblebee stickers on a purple car screams 'undignified.' Girls will think you're a teenager.

I have just finished applying 5-6 coats of clear coat. Now I am waiting for it to set up and harden.

Violet got a new winter coat for Christmas!

IMG_2715.thumb.jpeg.84a781d0c412f722b8de845b7fb67e11.jpeg

i spent the morning with Mr and Mrs notallthere! We had breakfast with my wife and i. I was truly happy to see them again . I last saw them in August at Roadkill Nights.

i spent the afternoon with the wife’s Hummer. It was over do for an oil change. I took it to the car wash next. After that, I vacuumed, cleaned, and detailed it.  It was messy. I don’t think it was cleaned inside in over a year.

Two Lane - dude!

I saw my teenage and early 20 years flash before my very eyes just remembering all that stuff. OMG!

I had a Delco AM/FM/8-track radio I pulled out of a junkyard and put it in my Vega with Mind Blower Speakers!

I installed Gabriel Hijacker air shocks on my '73 Lemans Sport Coupe. Thrush Performance mufflers were the cat's meow when I had that car, never got them though because I sold the car before I could buy them. Still they were all the rage when I was young.

I wanted Cal Custom or some other chrome valve covers back in the day. Again I sold the car before I could buy them.

Frosty...

A couple of things that I Forgot to mention...

A folded up Match pack to slip in between the top of the 8 Track Tape and the Player itself to Keep your...Ted Nugent Double live Gonzo tape from Skipping...When driving down a country road with Air Shocks...Which by the way you Always had to Constantly add air to one of them to keep the car level..Side to Side...So you wouldn't eat up the rear tire by Keeping the Quarter Panel/Wheelwell From Rubbing against it...

Looking for Hours at all the Cool Stuff in the JC Witney Catalog..And Window Shopping at the local Hot Rod Barn...

Flipping the Air Cleaner lid over...On Mom's car...So that it sounded like it had a 4bbl carburetor on it...

Those were For sure Good times...Had it made and didn't even realize it...

Hilarious....  I have a Delco AM/FM  8track  seek n scan in the Sunbird.  Still use the radio, but covered the 8 track when it ate my BOSTON tape. Speakers by Kickers.  The GTO came with an original set of High Jackers.  Use the coil springs for height in the rear and the Jackers to stop the bounce.  Even found original stickers for them after new paint. Have always kept my eye out for an Audiovox FM converter as the GTO has an AM radio.  AM doesn't work and the converter would be for show as well.  I dig the song stylings of the 421, with deep base from the Hooker headers.  DOO WAAA

Okay I was able to score this off Facebook Marketplace for almost half the list price. I had to drive an hour each way to get it from Clinton Township.

Wanna guess what this is?

This was something GE told me to get for Violet too.

Strut tower Brace....It ties the the shock towers and the Cowl together to help eliminate Flexing of the Unibody under Harsh/Racing conditions...It is also an excellent Handling Upgrade for "Spirited" driving on the Street ...Good Score...👍👍👍

Yup, this is a Petty Garage strut tower brace. They sell for $430 from Petty. So I got almost 50% off. GE actually recommended this brace by name too.

Ah - crazy Ted and Gonzo! I grew up with that album. I still have Yank Me, Crank Me But Don't Wake Up And Thank Me on my music list. And how can you forget Cat Scratch Fever and Wang Dang Sweet Poontang...I never knew what poontang was until someone told me.

Still looking for some.

Kiwi - I just found this one out. Here is a 2009 Dodge Challenger concept car that didn't make it into production, but it still would have been badass. This was before the Hellcat!

https://moparinsiders.com/before-there-was-hellcat-there-was-the-challenger-srt-10-concept/

A couple of the guys I worked closely with..Were former Petty Enterprise (Garage)..Guys Who did the Pre Hellcat Supercharger Conversions...on all the Petty Garage cars..Chysler corp...Provided  the "SPECIAL" software for the ECM Tune...(out the "back door") In order Not to void the Factory Warranty...And still conform to the Federal Emission control standards...In place At the time...

I would love to slap a supercharger on my 392. However every thing I’ve read about the 6.4L is that the bottom end is like glass if you put more than 5 psi of boast to it. You have to rebuild it with forged internals like rods and crank, perhaps pistons. Obviously piston ring gaps would need to change also, for boast.

it was the good folks at Petty’s Garage that labeled GE’s Challenger as the “Deer Slayer’s” car because of all the deer he had hit with it (which is three including a stag). It was a woman from Petty Garage that told me that name. Petty happened to be at the Detroit Autorama that year. I showed her a picture of GE’s car and she recognized it and said the name. I laughed soooo loud at that! I had to call GE right then and there.

Seee ! We never stop learning !!!

I never knew they had a viper concept !
very very cool 😎

I feel you need to do what I did frosty

I sold my 2007 Monaro gto to get my first red 2011 challenger , then they released the demon ! I dragged the boss to New York motor show to see it !

it was there my bubble was popped when the guy told me they where all sold !

but ! They had a hellcat at the show …… that’s all it took , I came home and hunted down my 2016 purple girl , when I got her, she only had delivery miles (kms) on it .

its by far the best car I have ever owned !!!

With a supercharger, its wayyyyy fun to drive 😜

The down side is I justA can’t leave her anywhere ! I worry it’s going to get scratched  or dented !
in 8 years I have done justA on 20000 kms

I have no doubt that a Hellcat would be fun as Hell. My problem would be where can i use all 700+ HP safely and legally, besides perhaps on Power Tour?

I would constantly want to burn rubber everywhere I went. Not a good idea or a cheap one, especially since I already need new rubber this spring as the original tires are 8 years old.

I know what you mean. I bought Lucy in 1995. Around 2007 I was going thru the paperwork I got from the previous owner. It in was a receipt for new tires - from 1985 in Delaware. Yeah I got those tires replaced later that year. I just replaced those 14" wheels and tires with new 15 wheels and tires I just put on her. So yeah, I know all about aging tires.

Now Indyman Joe on the other hand, he doesn't have that problem. He is constantly applying undercoating to his wheel wells. I admire him for that.
