  • Frosty collected his car this morning. Looks great! You must be so proud.

  • Frosty, you are now retired and with that there is a certain amount of dignity that you need to hang onto. Bumblebee stickers on a purple car screams 'undignified.' Girls will think you're a teenager.

I have just finished applying 5-6 coats of clear coat. Now I am waiting for it to set up and harden.

I will take a hard pass on a Solstice. Don’t get me wrong, I think the roadster’s looks are kick ass. Add an LS motor and it is truly a bad ass.

Sadly for tall fat asses like me, you wear the car. Getting in is okay, out is another story. Much like getting in and out of the last four generations of Corvette! Gravity helps you on the way down only!

The other problem is that the windshield is too low. The top of the windshield frame is directly in front of me. It obstructs my view, so I am constantly moving my head around to see oncoming traffic. Your arms and shoulders are crammed between the door and center console. How do I know? My in-laws have a 2006 red convertible! It’s fun but not a good fit for me, unfortunately!

Haven't been in one yet. At 6'0", that may be a problem. Don't want to buy a clown car lol

At 6.0' getting in and out should not be a problem. I am 5.10" and it isn't an issue. But I would hit my head about 1/2 of the time getting into the coupe, the side roof height is almost 2" lower than that of a convertible. The side windows are also that much smaller. I owned my LS swapped convertible and the coupe at the same time. So it was a direct comparison. I would not hit my head getting out of the coupe, nor getting into the convertible with the roof up. But I did wack my noggin a few times getting into the coupe.

I have driven the Convertible to national meets from Michigan to Taos NM, SD, WV, NY, WI, and Kentucky. I don't find it cramped or uncomfortable, but it also might help that I have to stop for gas every 300 miles or so due to the MPG of the LS2 engine.

The Mopar fan in me really enjoys RacerX's videos. Why can't Ponitac, or any GM brand for that matter, have these in-your-face performance commercials? Pontiac did this near the end with the GTO but it was way too little too late in my opinion.

Anyways, I do enjoy these old Mopar commercials. Dodge learned one thing.....performance sells!

I still remember Jim Wangers words in my head. He said that Pontiac was more aggressive advertising its performance in magazines than their television ads. Wangers knew the GM executives were not reading or paying any attention to the performance magazines of the day, but they sure as hell would be home with the wife and kids watching Batman and Flipper after dinner! That’s why Pontiac commercials were so restrained until the Humbler ad came out.

As a corporate culture, I think GM is afraid to showcase their performance. Let’s not forget that all they have left is the Corvette to toot their own horn. There is still no talk of an EV Camaro or any ICE performance vehicle at the moment.

If I may? I have this simple fact to state! Fossil fuels produce carbon! Be it carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or carbon sulfide. Guess what so does electrical energy sources! But, electrical energy sources actually produce more types of carbon & sends them to the atmosphere than fossil fuels! Like say carbon hexafluoride! Which is extremely toxic & never is produced by fossil fuels!

Another caveat to ICE big horsepower! I have said this many times throughout my life. If you have a brain, & that’s a big if today, big horsepower can save your life. Yes it can end it if you’re stupid & don’t know how & when to use it, but it can most definitely save it! I have had that experience more than once! When power is needed, big power to move 2000-4000 pounds of metal instantly only big horsepower can do that. You don’t have to use it foolishly, but if you don’t have it & need it, you just might be dead!

Just like brakes! There is no feeling so sinking as to need a braking system that stops your car NOW! As you’re careening towards an object & your brakes just fade away!

Let me ask this! How many of you actually ever use your big horsepower to help slow down your car? If any ever do or have, now try that with your 4 cylinder or your 4 cylinder turbo or especially you’re EV! Because this is what will happenrofl! Yet in a big horsepower ICE it will have major impact!

Last Indian out!

Violet maybe the only stick car I’ve ever owned but even I know to down shift before coming to a stop and let the engine help brake the car.

Furthermore, down shifting into a lower gear on an automatic transmission on a steep downgrade to prevent overheating your brakes should be mandatory in driver’s education!

My purple girls auto down shifts as soon as you touch the brakes , and you then take your foot off and it uses the engine , if I touch it again it will drop another cog . ! It certainly gives me a better feeling of control that’s for sure !

My point being, that all the woke stupid people, & they are because they believe what they are told or hear, but never go do actual research to find what is fact! I’m not saying you guys don’t, but then you’re not the problem!

Big horsepower does those things because of big CID! & cam profiles, induction systems, etc… Kind of like getting hit by gramma vs Mohammad Ali.

I know you guys get it! It’s the others that don’t have a clue!

You can’t fix stupid Last Indian. You can only duct tape it to a chair and gag it for just so long.

Oh so true Frosty! You can know this by this very fact! When you call a person that you didn’t know was stupid, ignorant & they are offended because they say you just called them stupid! Well that’s when you know you were wrong! They’re stupid not ignorant!slap

I was running errands this afternoon when I spied this Challenger Scatpack and its R/T and Scatpack graphics. I kinda like the look. Now if I did this, it would be in white against the purple.

Thoughts?

Bumblebee stickers on a purple car screams 'undignified.' Girls will think you're a teenager...until they actually see you. Then it'll be "Eeyoooo - old creep at 9 o'clock."

Just trying to help.

Believe the youngins say "unc" these days for someone old. My lovely niece has informed me that I am old and therefore not only her uncle but also an unc.

Okay Kiwi - here is your ChatGPT image. This is a random graphic but you get the idea. White pops against the purple IMO.ChatGPT Image Feb 11, 2026 at 08_42_48 AM.png

Wow ! It does !!!!!!

Now do the graphic in a carbon fibre grey/ black

But make it in a Matt colour

It will give the plum crazy a more aggressive modern street look 👀

The white looks cool if your going for a more retro look 👍👍👍

I think the black is too dark. I am not into the stealth look either. I am still partial to the white. I am into the retro look too.
