Well... it was a balmy 55 degrees here today, so I woke Black Betty from a three week nap and me and mrs.stratman went cruisin'.

Got a little mud and dirty water on Betty (nothing that won't wash off), but it was worth it to get her out and about after a long hiatus... got lots of thumbs up! :dancingpontiac:

I am still quite jealous that you can get her out and run her around nearly as often as you like stratman. Mother Nature is not that nice to us up here in the North country.

I popped the hood on the Envoy, and cleaned my K&N air filter after 12k miles and an entire winter. I got the filter out, spray it with the cleaner, let it stand, rinsed it out, let it air dry, and then couldn't find the oil aerosol can. Doh! I had to run up to Autozone to get a new K&N Filer "recharge" kit for $12.00. Sprayed up the filter, good to go.

The engine compartment looks really dirty after the winter we've had. I would have cleaned it up but we are still thawing out around here and there are still a lot of puddles full of salt water around. I will hold off cleaning it for a new more weeks.

Lucy can come out and plan - almost. The snow is almost gone. There is still a lot of melting snow water lying on the street and some salt left on the roads. Although the temperature is suppose to hit the mid-60s today. It will be warmest day of the week. I hope to have her out soon though.

We've had our high temps for the week, the temps are dropping today. We have a chance of snow showers on Saturday, over night lows will go back below freezing again. However, most of the snow is gone but the creeks and rivers are rising from all the snow melt.

So maybe next week will be the coming out party?

Gassed up the Envoy last night (before gas went up 16 cents over night), got an oil change and lube this morning for it, and then washed it and cleaned the interior. It doesn't like a nasty Oreo any more.

Still we need a good soaking rain to wash away a lot of the standing road salt.

Hopefully you'll get a good rain next week and by next weekend you'll be able to wake Lucy from her hibernation!

Went to the smallest cruise-in ever... there were like six cars. One of the cars was unusual, however... when was the last time you saw a Cosworth Vega (or have you ever seen one, lol)? This '75 Cosworth Vega was way ahead of it's time... it would be over ten years before another American car had a fuel injected, twin cam, 4 valve per cylinder engine.

Of course Black Betty always looks her best no matter what size the gathering...

Did see a # of rides out yesterday around here. We still need a good rain to clean the pavement of the salt. Glad you had yours out Stratman.

Always interested in the stuff Cosworth does.

Looks like a good cruise in.

I went for a drive yesterday and saw a good collection of cars out to play with. From a Porsche GT3 to an old Super Snake!

My very first car was my grandmother's '71 Vega, so I have a soft spot in my heart for all Vegas, Astres, and H-body specials (Monzas, Sunbirds, Firenzas, and Skyhawks). I have seen a few Cosworth's in my day too. I love them. Saw a few Vegas at Autorama too (built into race cars). You don't see many Vegas left on the street period, especially with their original motors left in them, the Cosworth is the lone exception.

BB always is looking good.

The Envoy looks a lot better now. Don't you think?

So maybe next week will be the coming out party?

Could be !!!!

Could be stratman, I certainly hope so.

I had breakfast with notallthere this morning. He told me to wear something sexy, so I wore this. I won....

Getting ready to wake up Lucy after a long winter's nap.

She's running!

After breakfast, we managed to escape the waitress (a.k.a. the coffee pusher) long enough to jump into Lucy and go for a long 2 hour drive in the cold Michigan country side.

Our local dairy farm/ice cream stop in the summer.

We covered 3 counties worth of back roads in 2 hours. Since I was driving, notallthere spent quality time sexting Havoc. What a great morning.

Thought of firing up the GTO, but polished the chrome on my KLEEN truck instead. We might get snow again tomorrow. The last snow pile was down to 2 foot sq.

so i decided to remove a certain something that i never liked. i know its not the best job ever, far from it actually. but shouldnt be too noticeable while driving. so, on to the "problem".

post-15-0-08354700-1427605264_thumb.jpg

not sure why it came upside-down here. anyways, drilled thru.

post-15-0-07907400-1427605290_thumb.jpg

filled, sanded, primed and painted.

next were the tail lights. the were very faded. and if i ran my fingers down on them, they would be covered in black dust. so i fully sanded them down to the lens. more sanding then cleared. sanded then tinted. sanded then cleared. which leads to this.

then the final sanding. before a car wash.

post-15-0-90787200-1427605500_thumb.jpg

then a wash. and so it begins...

Looks good. Wish we had the weather to work outside. TOO COLD. Had to take my truck in Friday and have a shop install the new radiator that blew. Got up to snow N wind. Screw this, not working in the driveway. Shop only charged me $100.00 in labor.
