I have a dual circuit master cylinder waiting with my brake guy, who will fit it up with the necessary proportioning valve and piping. That way we'll have a bit of redundancy in the system in case something goes wrong. Don't like my chances of pulling the Beast up with the park brake, to be fair 😬

What? You don't like Fred Flintstone style braking? Imagine that!

Actually I'm happy enough with the braking performance, given that it is used as a street cruiser. It's just the concern that if that single circuit has a problem, I'm in the hands of the Gods😆

Well it's up and running now, just waiting to hear from the exhaust company,Ordered dual exhaust system.

Nice, who did you order from?

A place In Centreville Michigan call Waldrons exhaust. They were only about a hour and a half drive from where I live.Great people to work with, outstanding workman ship. They are a small shop working out of a very old Ford dealership. If you are looking for a good price and quality work,Check them out!

Hey I'm in the Pontiac area,  where are you? We might have the down under gang up here for the Dream Cruise.  Would be cool to get as many FP members as possable together.

HI, I actually Live in NW Indiana just south of the Mills where I retired from,A place called Crown Point.

I've read about Waldron's Exhaust. They are as close to OEM/OER exhausts as you can get. So if you are trying to do a concurs restoration, they are the ones to call for an original OE exhaust.

Exhausts are on and they sound good, what a fantastic job they did, basically plug and Play!!!

So have been in a battle for Insurance on the Sunbird. Has had AAA from the day I picked it up at the dealership back in 1980. My GTO is with JC Taylor.  I wanted both show cars with the same company for the 2 car discount. JC is waaaay cheaper as they specialize in collectable cars.  They did not want to Insure the Bird because of the modifications and  esp the House of Colors paint.  Back in the day....I had to insure the paint ALONE with Loyds of London. Unmatchable and can't even use laquear paint anymore. We finally came to an agreement today!!!  Been getting so nervous, the GTO trans is not shifting.  Extremely hard to get it in 2nd.  It was all in to finish the new motor and get the Bird on the road last year.  Now weather permitting, the Sunbird will make the Widetracker Dustoff show next weekend. :indian:

went to put a simple timing cover crank seal on yesterday and it all went to shit. 3 fel-pro seals later and i am waiting on parts from tin indian performance. fel-pro has a really thick rubber seal and it tears as its going in. oil silicone and grease none of it worked. even chamfered the timing cover still no dice. was hoping to get the engine back in and on the road by today. NOPE! The only reason i was changing it is because it was in the gasket kit, should have left the old one alone. still trying to make the dustoff.

Partially assembled a new fuel tank.  Worked on attaching the mass airflow sensor to the engine.

wow ! a few highs and lows Paul !!

personally. if that generator isnt cutting the mustard, biff it! go grap a early commodor internally regulating alternator and delete the voltage regulator, its a major up grade !!! i am pretty sure they are delco reme brand on the vc-vk which is what you would find on a chev in the mid 80's

when it comes to scammers, you tell everyone you can, that way the f--ker will get caught out:cheers:

its a sad world we live in now paul, scammers are the bottom feeders and they will always be there.

There is certainly something special about a four door pillarless... justA clean lines and that open feeling :dancingpontiac:

i used to have a 61 impala four door pillarless, back when i was a teenager,,, love that 327 and glide, orange paint, and the lass i was with at the time love cruising topless in it !!! :)

Hey mate,

The alternator you're referring to  - is that the commonly available 12v/55A one?

If so, what do I need to do to make to work (& any upsides/downsides I should be aware of please?)?
