  • The new helmet showed up from Summit Racing yesterday. It's a G-Force open face type - size is 2XL. It fits real well. I may even flame it before I leave for Power Tour.  \ Black Beaut

That's IT!!!

Kiwi - pack your bag. You & me are off to Hooters, I mean to Tony's. You gotta die of something, right? I'd rather fall to the floor in Tony's clutching my chest (or fall on the floor at Hooters clutching someone else's chest) than sit here a minute longer dying of excessive salivation. I'm actually salivating looking at those food pics. I got issues...

Good work, Frosty.

This reminds me of when Homer went to The Frying Dutchman and simply kept eating. After the place had closed, the staff were dragging him out whilst he was yelling "but it says All You Can Eat!!!"

"He even ate the plastic display lobsters," said the young waiter!

I accept the challenge. Yeah bitches, I got bacon. Let's rock!

I took Black Beauty to WV two weeks ago for my last real car show of the year, the WV Drag Racers Hall of Fame show. It was a 2-day event this year with a drive-in movie on Friday night and then the car show and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday.

Strange thing happened before I left WV, my windshield mounted rear view mirror came off. I tried re-gluing the mounting tab from a glue kit that I got at AutoZone. It didn't hold. I ended up driving BB home with it off. Last night I tried re-gluing the mount. We shall see if this attempt holds.

I also took the car to the car wash and got all the bug kill off the front bumper and get the road dust off the car.

My pappy said, “son you’re gonna drive me to drinkin’ if you don’t stop driving’ that Hot Rod Lincoln”……..

I looked in the mirror, the red lights were blinking!

The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln!

,,,and that, class, is why we have rear view mirrors. More getaway time!

I know right...Supposed to be watching where you're going...Not where you've already Been...

Getting caught is never a good thing...Although everytime that I've gone to traffic court...I always run into someone that I know and haven't seen in years...Kinda like a reunion of sorts...I've also found out the hardway... That if the cops are close enough to see them in the rearview...You're already caught...You can't out run a Motorola...☹☹

I tried one time 40 plus years ago...While riding a Kawasaki KZ 1000... The North Carolina State trooper that finally got me was driving a mid 1970s Dodge...That had a dual quad 440 CID engine that had been Specially prepped and tuned by Maurice Petty...(Cheif engine builder for Richard Petty Racing) Specifically  For the state of NC...If I remember correctly the state had 10 of those "special" cars back in the day...

If you are anything like GuitarsExtreme, North Carolina and much of the rest of the south, need them!

17mph over the limit.  If caught for the blower, game over, car impounded.  (extreme cases of stupid) Wasn't crazy enough to pull a cell phone. Used my Nikon with the med lens.  Got out of the car and he  told me to get back in. After handing me the ticket, you could JUSTA watch him melt over Enzo.  He wanted to hold the pup in the worse way.  Still want the photo??? yessir  then he says where do you want me to stand?  Bout told him to back up into traffic, but we were having a MOMENT and he could easily pile on the tickets.    39yrs of Illegal obstruction of view, still crusin.....:driving:

You were very lucky, JustA. In Australia, the cops are so hungry for glory they would have impounded the car on the spot. You would have been fined thousands and been made to feel like a criminal. Speaking of criminals, they're the ones with the rights and are breaking into houses whilst you are pulled over for some misdemeanour. This is the unfortunate truth. Still a great country, but the standards are eroding at a rate of knots.

I did say to him, the last time I got a ticket you were not even born yet.  He said yea, I saw that (background check of record) N thats why I cut you a break.

The only thing that saved me was the fact...I had recently joined the military and was headed out to San Diego for basic Training three days after I had appeared in court...The judge told me that " I had a shitty attitude and a blatant lack of respect for anykind of authority...It was my lucky day and That if he ever saw or heard of me in his courtroom again...That he would go out of his way... Legal or Not...To insure that I would do hard time....Now get the F÷=k out of here"...There was NO doubt in my mind that he really meant it...

I have no doubt that he meant it - he definitely wanted you out of his court room.

Well that’s weird. I went to jump in Black Beauty early Saturday morning to head for the West Michigan tour. I hit the key and click. Not a sound. The Battery Tender showed green. Hmmmm. Then I noticed that the rear hatch was left open. So I figured I had left a light on and killed the battery.

Since I was short on time I jumped in the Roadmonster and moved all my bags into it. I closed everything up in BB and hooked up the Battery Tender again and took off for the weekend.

I got home tonight and checked on BB. Again the Battery Tender showed green. I hit the key and click. Not a sound. Damn! So I figured at this point I have a dead cell. I will take it out and have it benched tested this week. However, it isn’t even three years old. This is the shortest life of an Optima Battery I’ve ever had. These are not cheap batteries.

Edited by Frosty

did you try putting it in neutral to see if it made a difference?

Jeez, Frosty. Optima? How much are we paying you? Just get a regular battery. They die all the time these days OR get a crank handle! My 1968 Renault had provision on the end of the crank to accept a crank handle. The wheel nut brace doubled as a crank handle! That thing saved me endless times. Mind you, it was 1100cc so cranking it was a doddle. I don't fancy you hand cranking any of the cars you have right now.

No I didn't Joe. I will give a quick try later tomorrow.

Not enough Fitzy! I damn well want a raise at this rate. I had to get a new Optima for the Roadmaster after 2 regular batteries I had for it died at the same time. I installed the Optima in BB after I pulled her out of storage 2.5 years ago. So I've spent a ton of money propping up Optima's stock.
