Team played very well through the round robin, (5 1/2hrs) seeding us 2nd for the playoffs.  Made the 1st round of eliminations and then lost an overtime 3rd game in the 2nd round, putting us in the bronze medal game against a team we had beaten twice already. Leading all 3 games in the match we let them sneak back in and win the last two, ending our day and hopes of some bling from this years tournie.  7 straight hours after we began. 🏐 I am now cramping from head to toe.  Good Times!

Bummer about not placing but sounds like you had fun! 7 hours of volleyball, imagine there’s not enough ice in Antartica to sooth you right now.

Officials have said that one of the 4 main anchor moorings that keep Mackinac Island in place was severed sometime late last fall. The moorings, which were installed around 1910, are tethered to bedrock and are in place to keep the Island from further shifting on a northern trajectory. The faulty cable was from the mooring near British Landing on the Island’s northwest side.

It’s unclear how the untethered cable on the beach (see photo) went undetected for so long, however other folks had noticed a slight change in navigation nuances. Chris Shepler, Manager of Shepler Ferry said that several of his Ferry Captains indicated that they thought the west break-wall appeared to be slightly closer to the Round Island Light House. Syd Hawkins, Captain for Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry said, “All fall, when utilizing GPS, we kept coming in 2 to 3 feet off course at the dock, I figured the GPS needed a reset or re-calibration. I never would have thought the Island could shift.” Jason St. Onge, Proprietor of the Cannonball Oasis at British Landing which is very near the break said, “Never noticed a thing, and if there were any changes, it certainly didn’t affect the perfect cylindrical swirl on the soft serve ice cream cones!”

It is unclear at this time when the cable will be re-attached to the mooring and the Island reset to its plotted position, but folks close to the issue indicated it will probably happen before Memorial Day Weekend. In the odd event that a second of the four moorings breaks, a tugboat style ship will be brought in for stabilization efforts. Some quick research indicated that there hasn’t been a separation of the cables from a mooring in almost 61 years. The Army Corp of Engineers, which is responsible for the cables and moorings, inspects them for wear and fray every two years.

I had no idea the island was moored.  Never heard of this before.  Thought I'd share.

1st time in years we haven't brought home some bling.  Finally got over the cramping and got some sleep.  Didn't stray far from the the couch with the heating pad N ice packs today.  Have mens league tomorrow AM.   This was more than likely my last tournament.  Would like to make 1 last trip to Utah for the Huntsman games, but probably won't get asked.  My team disbanded years ago.

What is your idea to end these school children killings? Please don't tell me we need to put the National guard in every school. I've seen Uvalde Texas. Kids don't matter there. But what if one of them was your child? 

My daughter is a teacher, much like the one that was Just shot buy a 5 year old child.  I never made ANY reference to school!!  As long as our our socialist press continues to glamorize this situation it's only going to get worse.  Tragic situations hammered 24/7  everytime you turn on TV or a radio for weeks on end, detailing every move a person must make, to make something like this happen. Pick a target, doesn't have to be a school (thats just giving kids what they need to show the world how they will get even with other kids/teachers ect when they feel wronged) Grocery stores, concerts ANY soft target you can think of with people gathering.  Think about it, many states won't allow schools to have guns.  As it should be, but even the school officer that suppose to protect them? Oxford is a stones throw away from me here in Mi and we were deeply saddened with the loss of a close family friends daughter.  They had the kid in the principals office WITH his parents to kick him out, hours before he started shooting.  The parents refused to take the kid home.  Next move should have been to call the police and have him removed from the property. If that had happened his backpack would have been searched.  But they allowed him back in class.  Your answer is to take away everyones guns.  Your not touching the black market where most criminals get their guns to begin with.  So now legal gun owners have no way to defend themselves or family from criminals that have guns.  How is this going to FIX things bro?  Take all the guns away,  now it will be knives, nut jobs will find another avenue.  Imagine a car running down the side walk as schools are letting out.  Yea I could never have imagined school shooting growing up.  It's completely sickening what we have evolved into.  Hell, was it a tough choice as to which bathroom you used today?  Cancel culture....Just what it say's.  Eliminate all laws, guidelines, morels that have governed our country from the beginning.  What exactly do you report and to whom on people that Justa aren't right.  Someone that MAY harm someone else.  You gonna call on a neighbor that offended you and have the police come and take his gun?  You better bring a tow truck for his car, the gas cans for his lawnmower and EVERYTHING else that could be used as a weapon, except the pillows on his bed.  Oh sorry that can be used too, while your sleeping.   Wait...what??  He called on YOU!  OMG....
