From what I have read online thus far is that it is important to kill the mold first. So applying some sort of mold killing agent is the first step. Let it stand 20-30 minutes and then vacuum up the dead mold residue. Once that is done, you can continue cleaning with a steam cleaner or something else.

Thanks bud. I’ve read that diluted white vinegar is the cheap ticket for killing and cleaning up mold.
