Brake and fuel line day !!!

image.jpg

And the cool part is I can take a look under the 64 to copy the location of both the 3/8 fuel line and the 3/16 brake line down the frame rail and over around the diff 👍

And unlike when I plumbed the 64 original lines , which are 1/4 , the 3/16 will give better pedal feel , less pedal travel and will be easier to route 👍

And all in Nicopp 🍻

And main fuel line and brake lines from the diff done

on the front i am going to leave extra 3/16 brake line to go up to the master cylinder, but the 3/8 will have a joiner block and i will make a line to go vertically up the fire wall, as the point of entry for the efi on the l98 engine is on the drives bank, top back corner which will sit nicely next to the brake booster....( that s story in its self ! )

IMG_8599.jpeg

on the inside of the rear driverside rail i plan to mount the corvette pressure regulator/ filter, as my tank is up inside the rear quarter.

The auto city classis disc brake kit i bought has been sent to kiwi shipping in ca, total cost $769usd, the cost to air freight to me is going to be another $407usd, so i am looking at near 2k nz dollars to get the kit here !!! Freight is truely killing any hope of this build getting finished unless i can sort parts locally !

so i am going to have to hunt nz wide for the parts or change factory parts for what can find. which is a pita !!

any one heading this way from LA that has a spare bag to stick some discs and a master cylinder/booster in ? rofl

Chris, the Toy Shed in Rotorua is advertising disc brake kits from around $1k if my memory serves me correctly. Just a thought.

I am after a rear drum if you know of anyone who has one Russel , it has to be 1959 onwards 11inch x2inch 5on 5

What i want to do is run the wagon with these gears and see if they suit the new ls engine/trans combo. then i can choose a new set of gears and a posi setup.

Looking good!

I have my hands full with just one car D

Managed to get a afternoon on the 63 and fitted the rear slave cylinders and piped the diff.

i added extra welded on clamps, as its a requirement here in nz that all brake lines be ancored at no more than 300mm centres. and the factory doesnt ancor the tee to the housing, so i have fitted a backet to the new tee, so everything is nice and strong cheers

The hose between the diff and body will be made once i have a ride height with the body back on.

i finnaly found replacement drums, so they are ordered and we are near ready to finally install the engine and trans.
