Hilarious. I can see the humour from NZ hasn't improved since I was last here.

That's because the NZ brain is closer to the Antarctic Circle mate. It slows down the neural pathways. Only beer can help thaw a muddled NZ brain. This is a long way of saying don't get your hopes up.

I have been at work for over 4 weeks now with 2 days off. The spondoolies are cascading in and my foot is still floppy.

Am flying home Tue and then undergoing several varying medical procedures during my 'week off.'

GP still runs perfectly.

That's all I got.

Glad the GP is still running well buddy, but "undergoing several varying medical procedures during my 'week off" justa doesn't sound like much fun. Hope everything goes well brother Fizty.

Thanks man. It's only chiro, then dental then some skin cancers. Not that big a deal - I just wanted to sound exciting & interesting.

Technically, drinking is not considered "varying medical procedures" - even if you switch from Scotch to Tequila during the same pub crawl. Justa saying!

Took GP out for it's customary fortnightly exercise and indicated to turn right and indicator blinked once and that was that. Pulled up and inspected my CRAPPY Ames sourced replacement stop/tail bulb holders to see if they were still sitting where they should be. They have popped out before and are cheap rubbish. No, they were intact so I turned around and of course had to turn right twice more before I could sheepishly get home. You need to remember that turning right in Australia is across traffic, ie. the equivalent of a left turn in Trumpville. I knew it was something simple and tested the offending bulb. Sure enough, even though both filaments looked intact the 'stop' one was not. New bulb and everything's Archie. Now, as we all know, the usual clue as to a failed indicator bulb is faster than usual flashing on that side but I have combo LED park/indicator bulbs up front. The front bulb was lit but not flashing - so a different symptom to the same issue. I have had enough of the crummy plastic bulb holders that Ames supplied and have just ordered 2 metal ones with spring clips that snap into place, just like the originals when things were still made of metal. The Ames ones are encircled with plastic tangs that do bugger all.

I provide this lengthy story so as to assist others - rear bulbs get a good shaking about as the car trundles around and they need to snap snugly into place. Do not be tempted by the plastic ones - go metal.

Whew! Just be thankful I wasn't writing about a more serious issue. That would have been 3 more pages of drivel.

I remember watching The Archies as a kid (occasionally - even as a 10 year old I could see through the pap although I did like Veronica..) and apart from Veronica's jet black hair, the only other thing I remembered from the show was at the end of their theme song, 'everything's Archie' was sung. I have tried to use that line to explain that things are now good but all I get are blank stares and now, once again Frostaroonie has come to the rescue and has recognised that line.

Everything is now defo Archie.

Fitzy when I was a kid, they printed/pressed Archie 45s on the back of Post cereal boxes. You literally cut the back off the box off and placed in on your record player! .I remember getting Bang-Shang-A-Lang and Archie’s Party off those boxes. I was a fan of the show mainly because the music appealed to me.

I still have the Archie’s Greatest Hits CD in my collection. Something about that care free teenage music still appeals to me.

I still have Sugar Sugar in my music collection. The Archies were actually a session group who did a pretty good job. Could you imagine a contemporary Archies group? They'd be dressed in rags, spiky hair, covered in tatts, pierced everything and singing hiphop lyrics about being gunned down and putting stuff up your nose. I think we got the best version.

Two comments…..

1. Look up Ron Dante - he was the lead singing voice of the Archie’s. He was also with the group called the Cuff Links, “Tracy” was their big hit. Ron is getting up in age but he still tours! See him if he gets to Queensland.

2. There was a TV show called Riverdale. It was a live-action show that ran 7 seasons. It maybe available on streaming services like Netflix or something else. It had music too. It featured all the Archie characters, even Josie and the Pussy Cats! Think of it as a modern interpretation of the old ARCHIE show.

Now here is the “Ina Gada Davita” extended version of Sugar, Sugar 18 minutes worth!!!!

Uh...okay, thanks Frosty. Can someone make sure he's taking his meds? He's taking this Archies thing just a little too far.

Remember where we are - this is Forever Pontiac, not The Archies Half Hour.

Does he have his pants on?

Car keys in the fridge again?

Josie & The Pussycats...you can't tell me there was no subliminal messaging going on there targeting pre pubescent teenage boys. No wonder we were the Baby Boomers- couldn't keep it in our pants.

What??? Banned from site again?

Good advice, but after working really hard to jam my plastic ones in tight after replacing my globes I think I'll wait until they fail before changing them 🤣

How did you make them stay in place? I tried to splay out the plastic tangs and also prised apart the metal ones and nothing worked. I was on the cusp of securing them with a self tapper when common sense returned and I searched for metal pronged snap in ones. They were only 5 bucks each.

Can't keep mine in place in the GTO.

Technically banning you from the site would be considered recognition. That's not allowed.

Kinda like the worst thing your boss can do to you is keep you in current job! Pretty much the same thing here.
