Well said, Frosty. I did enjoy our little Archies excursion though.

How did you make them stay in place? I tried to splay out the plastic tangs and also prised apart the metal ones and nothing worked. I was on the cusp of securing them with a self tapper when common sense returned and I searched for metal pronged snap in ones. They were only 5 bucks each.

Pretty much exactly that - splayed them a bit, then put them in a little off-centre & literally screwed them in ½ turn-ish.

Bam...still there 🤙

Nice work. I also managed to secure mine in place but all it took was 500m of dirt road and one fell out.

I will be sure to post full details of the new ones, as a public service.

Dirt?

That's for washing off the car, not driving on! That's what Bland-Cruisers and Poo-trolls are made for 😆

I've taken 4 weeks off work so as to enable me to be sliced up - have a rather large lesion on my foot that has to come out (amongst a host of others also to be removed) and won't be able to do much for a few weeks.

So I am now getting some simple little jobs ready to keep me busy. My new stop/tail bulb holders arrived today. It's not exciting nor sexy but it's a start. I did a test fit and they snap in nicely and defo won't fall out but there's the slightest bit of wriggle room whilst they are in place so I may have to bend those tangs out ever so slightly.

this sound dumb, but if the fit on those socket tabs is sloppy , tin them and add solder

it will build up each tab just a few thou.

Thats a cool tool Kiwi, I still have to drag an extension cord out to the car when I solder

Tomorrow is Sliced Foot Day.

We've had a lot of rain lately and the joint is moist & tropical. I had to move the GP today and popped the hood first as I always do and found a new engine bay resident.  A green tree frog - well he's now the lesser spotted red Pontiac frog but whatevs.

He's toadally awesome...sorry - that's the only frog related gag I could come up with. Good thing he's not on the starter croaker. Don't make me rebbit myself.

Please send in your funny froggy remarks.

This is obviously not Pontiac related but my foot had a nice big lesion removed yesterday. It's pretty damn painful at the moment so I am essentially nestled into my easy chair all day and writing crap, so prepare thyselves for plenty of long winded replies. I also had a nice big one removed from my back. Gotta go back tomorrow to have one on my cheek and shoulder removed.

I have beer, painkillers, antibiotics and sleeping tablets. Sure are some pretty colours today.

Good luck N feel better soon.   I hear you have a Prince there to help ya now.  Did you kiss the frog?

So did the doctor successfully get the lead out of your foot at the same time? Justa curious! Asking for a friend!

I can’t believe that during your convalescents, you made no mention of TV and car porn! Shame, shame Fitzy! I guess you really don’t have a MAN card.

Hell you never even mentioned pizza or beer once! I think this is more serious than you realize!

Get well mate! We need our Fitzy back…cussing at Pontiacs and chucking spanners across the garage in righteous and glorious fits of rage!

Okay, easy. Last night was beers followed by my missus' delicious homemade pizza. Today I have done nothing but sit around - I'm basically witing for beer o'clock to roll around, it's like a retirement test run. Too damn sore to get out of my chair. I'm hoping to be a little more mobile tomorrow - I'll have to be because I got another two spots to come out in the morning.

Pfft…so why didn’t you say so? Here’s a secret……beer, it’s not justa for breakfast anymore! It’s always beer o’clock!

Yeah - a tempting proposition but being shitfaced before lunchtime is not a good look nor will my liver thank me. Another hour or so before I crack the first one. Gotta peel off my dressings first.
