The old truck was actually an Austin - I had it removed, along with a few other relics. I kept one old relic...she's a good cook.

Bags of cement??? We're talking truckloads of readymix here.

I had all the trucks and 2 tractors removed. I kept one oldie as lawn art - anything more than one and you start to look like a weirdo

i've got enough old things to keep me busy for ever. Old woman, old house, 2 old cars, old motorbike, old ride on mower amongst other crumbling relics that I still insist on using.

Well, I made it home from 'work' again AND I actually have some Pontiac related news.

This coming Sunday morning I am going to the local drive in...yep, I just happen to live near one of the last of these (still running) relics in Oz. It's basic as - still got the speakers that hang off the window but you can also tune in via your radio and there's a central food area where you can shovel all manner of naughty unhealthy deepfried goodies down your gob. And then, on the way back to the car you frantically make sure that you gots johnnies ready to go. Anyway, it's going to simply be a collection of all local cars from 1960 - 1965 and I just KNOW there'll only be one ol' GP there.

I'll get some pics. The ol' girl always attracts plenty of attention. Curious fact about the '65 GP is that nowhere on the car does it actually say Pontiac. So I often get asked what it is. Mind you, the stacked headlights are a decent clue as are the dealer licence plate surrounds that clearly state the car is from Cerritos Square 'Pontiac, GMC & Buick.' I can only guess that quite a few older Ponchos are sans Pontiac notation. Anybody care to chime in?

Who didn't read that the event will be Sunday MORNING - if there's a movie on it'll be Jack Shit because that's how much I'll see of it.

So, when I said chime in, I meant about the absence of Pontiac on any model...come on, try to keep up.

But, always good to hear from the gang.

Oh, and you guys forgot Duel - no tougher truck has ever been portrayed like that old Peterbilt.

Oh wow !!! Dual you say ! Never seen. It !!!!

Duel huh? I think Hugh Hefner was the mysterious truck driver! If that was the case, then when the truck tries to crush Dennis Weaver’s Dodge Dart, I can yell….

Okay Frosty, just have a seat - nice & easy now...We're all friends here. Now, tell us about your latest deep emotional trauma as it has manifested itself as a series of lame Dad jokes.

Lame, but damn funny!

Well, there are a lot of reasons Fitzy, take your pick.

My doctor said "Aw" when I went to see him - he said I had acute trauma.

I haven't spoken to my wife in years. I don't want to interrupt her.

My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I wanted a second opinion. He said "okay, you're ugly too."

i drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample, it had an olive in it.

When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them.

Every time I look up my family tree, there are at least three dogs using it.

My wife and I were happy for 28 years, then we met.

On Halloween, parents in my neighborhood would send their kids out looking like me.

Nothing is funnier than trauma to the groin, unless, of course,......

Yesterday I was playing golf and I hit two good balls. I stepped on a rake.

Some jerk keeps taking the cork out of my lunch.

I am here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! I hope these therapy sessions are worth it.

Went to the car show at Mareeba Drive In today. Thank goodness there was coffee and greasy egg & bacon burgers ready to go - served by 4 young women dressed in period 60s diner style attire. I was going to sneak a pic but didn't want to look like a creep...I can do that without pointing my phone at pretty young women. It was a little overcast and a very light sprinkling of precipitation but nothing to keep people away. I reckon an easy 100 to 150 cars turned up. I had limited line of sight for most cars and simply did the best I could regarding pics - nothing like the primo stuff I see from you guys but you'll get an idea. Australian, English, Japanese, American & some rods. Someone even brought their purple McLaren! I thought of Frosty in his purple car being hauled away by the fashion police when he was wearing his red shirt. My eyes still water at the thought of such a travesty. A lovely Capri and Zephyr ute to keep Kiwi happy, plenty of current model Mustangs, a Firebird, 67 fastback 'Stang & a coupla old Chev pickups to keep the Yanks happy. And a few Aussie cars whose values just keep skyrocketing - the junkers we were forced to tool around in when we were young men because they were affordable.

It's still a functioning drive in and whilst they don't show contemporary movies, I think they have themed nights like a couple of scary movies back to back, or car inspired ones. You can camp on the perimeter (for a modest fee) after watching the films. There are even a few little houses on the same plot of land - I'm not sure what the set up there is.

That LS Monaro was certainly nice looking and I can't comment on the SLR Torana - who knows, what with so many 'tribute' cars around. The ratty ol' GP commanded the usual amount of attention. I took a friend as passenger and on the way slotted it back to second and gave it a squirt. He said "bloody hell, it goes all right!"

High praise, indeed.

Oh, and what movie was showing? Gorillas In The Mist! What did you expect when you mix a bunch of knuckle dragging petrolheads with a mild drizzle?

I'm back home after another 7 days of crap...I gave one of our so-called managers a serve on my last day: I won't go into detail but I gave that jerk both barrels and made it clear that a bunch of fat lazy managers don't have the right to sit in the aircon doing f@%& all whilst we were doing 10 things at once as everything imploded into chaos. The 'client' (ie. the mob who actually pay for our services) got involved and read those idiots the Riot Act.

Job done.

Pontiac? Yeah, still got it. Still runs awesome. Forced the ol' girle into it last weekend I was home and took her out to lunch at a little pub in the bush. As I parked the GP the local redneck bogans had a good look...one of the girls was about 18 and wearing almost nothing and she admired the car. I spent some time admiring her 'bodywork' too. The thought of taking her home and leaving the Boss behind was a pleasant but fleeting daydream. When we departed I made sure to motor off nice & slow so everyone could hear that awesome exhaust note...and added a few hydrocarbons to their drinks.
