Sharing memories with my FP friends...

My precious wife of 38 years, Nancy, passed away this past July. It's been, and still is, hard to talk about without getting upset. I am getting better, but little things can still trigger the water works. One of Nancy's last wishes was that her iPhone go to her sister-in-law, Linda, and that it would stay on my bill so that it would not cost Linda anything. Linda was Nancy's primary caregiver, while I was at work, during her last half year or so. It was to be Nancy's "thank you" to Linda. About two weeks ago, after putting it off for about two months, I took the iPhone to the Apple Store to get it factory defaulted and authorized for another user. Before I had that done, I went through her phone, read all our old text messages we had sent to each other, and downloaded all her pictures. Needless to say, it was very emotional. There were over 120 pictures, with a majority that I had never seen before! I would like to share some pictures she took of Black Betty and a selfie with you guys...

Still very sorry to hear. Love what technology can become and remind us of. I'm no Apple expert but did you back the phone up to iTunes on your computer? Might be able to still look at all that was on the phone there on the computer. @markpetersonii I know has some Apple products and might be able to weigh in here.

Thoughts are still with you! Great pictures :)

Stratman, it is with a heavy heart that I see you lost two true loves of your life recently, selling Black Beauty and losing your wonderful wife Linda.

Thank you for sharing both of them with us.

Obviously you are taking things one day at a time, but what are your plans for the future at this point?

Sorry to hear about this.  I could not imagine what you are dealing with.  She sounded like a very beautiful lady inside and out.  You were lucky to have her.

Hey buddy, sorry to hear of your loss.  This is where your friends step up to help you with the new "normal" in your life.  You have many here that have you in the thoughts N prayers. ONE day at a time.

Great pictures Pat, thanks for sharing them along with your memories. Glad you are staying active on FP where Pontiacs and Friends are Forever.

Sorry to here of your wife's passing, Stratman. Continued prayers for you and your family.

Could not Imagine what you are going through, hope I never have to. Thank you for allowing us to share in the good time memories. What a blessing it is for each of you to have been a part of each others lives.

I put off posting this since July. I am so glad I finally shared Nancy's passing with you all, your kind words are blessing to read. Nancy wasn't much on car shows, but she LOVED  cruising in Black Betty... it made her feel like a Queen with all the attention we'd get driving Black Betty. I most certainly didn't want to sell my GTO, but I will never regret it. I was going to exhaust every possibility of saving my wife no matter what the cost.

I'm so sorry, Pat.   My wife and I have been more aware recently of the inevitability of one of us having to go through what you're going through, and just the thought of it is very unsettling to us both.  We both wish for you the best that things can possibly be.

Bear and Mrs. Bear

Stratman, I learned thru my near fatal incident that Hot Rodders and car guys are some of the best people you will ever know. It is unbelievable what they will do to help a buddy out. So don't ever fell like you need to hold your story or feelings back. People will be there for you, even if it is just a shoulder to cry on.

Mere words cannot adequately explain how the Charleston WV car community rallied to look after my wife and stepson will I was in a coma. So don't be afraid to let people in. You will gain a whole new family, I did.
