WOW this is one OLD thread.   Way before I joined.

Ren has a 2.5" Corsa exhaust, bank 1 & 2 manifold ZZP PLOG's, ZZP high performance converter with, which is also heard at startup, a Mazere flexplate. The only thing stock about the exhaust system is the crossover pipe (transverse engine mount). The crossover is OEM only because the aftermarket one I wanted wasn't in stock. At idle (especially cold idle) she sounds great. While cruising (i.e. little throttle) she quiets right down so no drone but as soon as even a little throttle is added she wakes right up. The only way I can think of to make her sound any better is to do an aftermarket cam but I likely won't (for a few reasons).

This clip is actually several years old but she still sounds the same 🙂

2009 GXP, Auto stock with the exception of adding VaraRam OTR air intake. I'm interested in an exhaust swap and currently thinking strongly on the SOLO set from the stock exhaust manifolds back. Any thoughts or experience with this is appreciated. Also if there is currently a thread discussing this topic please point me to it.

Hey guys, I'm surprised nobody had an opinion regarding my G8 GXP exhaust upgrade. Am I barking up the wrong tree here or what?

I completely missed your post last month Gordon !

Dpe de Filippo systems are the best imho !

I had one on my 07 gto with its ls2 . That thing was a head turner !!!!

Gordon , if you haven’t already , stick a better cam in it and go for tuned long headers , stick a performance balancer on it too , and up grade the valve springs and push rods … that way you will get the best tone from your exhaust upgrade 👍👍👍

I went one further and had my heads cnc ported and my cam was lumpy as !!! Actually too lumpy !!! You really had to hold your foot on the brake at stops as she wanted to jump forward with each romp romp !!!!! rofl

I took that car to the track once !!!! And found out that I had a great engine ! But the brakes were not up to the job of slowing it down !!!!!!
