  • Well the HID kit is fully removed and sitting in my garage, my buddy only found ONE Sunfire of my generation at the junkyard near him, so he grabbed all the wire harnesses for the lights and such. So

  • I'm photo sensitive. One time I drove with night vision goggles. I mananged to pass a cop LOL

Mark has all the photos, we took care of some other stuff too, I will probably have the pictures sometime tomorrow.

Got quite a few things done yesterday (and today). Cleaned up my black rims, took off my rear bumper to fix my rear right LED light, plasti dipped the rims and grill. Also took off my spoiler to see if I liked it ;)

Wheel preparation:

Took the wheels off and thoroughly cleaned them with water and dish soap.

Morgan_Wheels001.jpg

Letting them dry.

Once they were dry, we put scraps of old UTI brochure to good use and then placed them around the rim so we wouldn't spray any plasti dip on the wheels. That and we didn't go and get and index cards!

Ready for the First coat!

First Coat!

Morgan_Wheels064.jpg

Couple of Coats in.

Finished Product of the rims, I for one really liked how they turned out, but Mark and I agreed it could use a few more coats, especially around the spokes, seeing they are hard to get at.

Morgan_Wheels180.jpg

But we didn't just focus all of our time on the rims yesterday, we focused on getting the grills done, they were in rough shape after some rocks and things speckled them and were rather.....spotty.

So we cleaned them:

Then let them dry for a bit:

Then we brought them to begin!

Morgan_Wheels017.jpg

First coat already looks good:

After a few more coats and letting the last coat dry for 4 hours, it was time to put them in. I think they turned out most excellent and hopefully they won't chip or anything like the spray can says.

So while all that was being done, we also tackled the removal of the rear bumper for like the 3rd or 4th time now, and fixed my LED light.

Bye-Bye Sadie's tail lights:

Bumper is off!

Samantha = Sad :'(

Morgan_Wheels055.jpg

Unfortunately, I know about this, as does a few other people on here, but I'm going to show this to everyone, I know why my bumpers are a bit off in color. It would appear that my car was hit in the back some time before I purchased her and must of been pushed into a car or object up front, thankfully there is no damage that I can tell up front (kinda don't want to take the front bumper off to find out). But, the damage to the rear is rather...extensive.

Morgan_Wheels056.jpg

That was enough to cause damage to the wiring for the rear sidemarkers seeing that they all go to that side, so the wires were just getting corroded enough to cause issues a few times. It also cracked the areas in my trunk, which was repaired last year with some hardcore sealant.

Mark inspecting and repairing the areas in question (again haha).

Morgan_Wheels057.jpg

After repairs and putting the LED back in, success!

Morgan_Wheels059.jpg

Then we became bored again after doing some more coats that we decided to remove my spoiler to see if I liked the look of it.

Which I do.

Morgan_Wheels075.jpg

Morgan_Wheels078.jpg

It was however, really nasty under there...

Morgan_Wheels084.jpg

Nothing a little elbow grease can't fix.

And the moment you've been waiting for, seeing the wheels and such on the car!

I decided on white after seeing some other cars on the internet with white. Looks better to me than the dull black, I like seeing my rims, and not a big solid black mass lol! It also needs some touching up in spots, but Mark and I will be doing that soon, which is great with this stuff, no need to remove anything, just take the wheel off, and re-apply where needed lol

  • Founders

Just the silver of the car and the white, eh it doesn't do much for me but I do agree the wheels as a whole look better but I don't think the combo for the car as a whole isn't my thing. Don't take it too harshly, I'm picky

  • Author

Yeah I got ya, but I didn't like the idea of flat gray or flat black haha. Mark and I were saying a polished lip would look good lol

plasti dip makes a glossifier and on focus fanatics i've seen people paint over the plasti dip and it still works like plasti dip

  • Author

Yeah I've noticed that too, but for now I like this, plus it needs to be touched up a bit, but we ran out of time. So I'm leaving it as is for now.

Sorry I dont dig the white rims but its not my car so............ :P to me.

Heheh! Its all good, I can't force you to like them...or can I? Haha.

The Force is not strong with you so you cant! The Jedi mind trick only works on the weak minded! :yoda:

Bah lol

They look good in white.

  • Author

If I ever do get sick of this color, I actually might re-do them in black, I noticed that the black we used on the grills is actually a bit lighter than my old glossy black rims, but seeing it takes FOREVER to do them I will only do it again if these turn out to be a huge hassle. Thanks for the comments guys.

LMAO it took one afternoon and evening. That's not really forever! The worst part about it is that we were going from black to white. So it will suck in that aspect if you go back to black. UNLESS we peel off the white and then do the black over the old black =P.

The glossifier is really starting to peak my interest. I may have to play with my GTZ wheels sometime soon.

  • Author

Yeah let me know how that goes bro, then we can decide if we want to do it or not ;)

Don't have pictures of what we did, but a few days ago (ok so maybe almost a week) we took out my rear deck speakers (they weren't working either because they were bad or the wiring was) and put in all new wiring from them to the front, 14 gauge. Loving how my car stereo sounds now and I just ordered new front speakers:

Have these on the way:

Pioneer TS-A4674R A-Series 4"x6" 3-Way 200 Watts

And I have these in the back:

Pioneer TS-G6943R 2-Way 250 watt 6x9 Speakers

Should be pretty nice, the 6x9's are pretty great!

So my interior is 100% Pioneer :P

New door speakers should be here today :3

Bam! Ordered these Friday and they got here from Cali. Monday at 6am, and on my door at 3pm! Not too shabby, and I payed like $40 with shipping while BestBuy (when they had them in stock) wanted roughly $54 for them. Box was a bit beat up, but the speakers look ok! I will find out this coming Saturday when I get them installed at the GM meet.

Nice!!!! I like the pioneer speakers, they sound way better than the paper crap that comes stock.

Sent from my freakin HTC Rezound!!!!

  • Author

Yeah, I can't wait to hear how these sound in the doors, the stock ones rattle a bit so I can take a good hard look while installing and making sure everything is good to go. I guess after this that completes my Audio for the car....so much left to do in the other departments however haha!

  • Author

Getting the speakers in tomorrow, and I nagged my buddy with my tail lights to see if he can finish them by tomorrow, and he said it is highly unlikely because he hasn't slept much over the past few days. Which is understandable, he is a busy guy. Hopefully soon though.

What does he have left?
