He has one completely ready to go, the other he can't get the lens cover off. He baked it several times and its still holding. He doesn't want to bake it too much though in fear of damaging the housings. We had to buy a whole new set seeing one of the old ones had damage to one of the sockets (too hot of a bulb or something) and it had melted, so after that delay and killing one of the LEDs (had to get a new one of those too) so we have the new set, with only one ready, the other is being a pain in the butt. As soon as he gets the other one ready, all he has to then is drill holes for the wires and place the leds in the old sockets. Then reseal them and wire them. The wiring can be done at any time, hopefully they can be finished by tomorrow some how and we can wire them up then. If not, I might go back to his house and see if we can get it done then.

  • Well the HID kit is fully removed and sitting in my garage, my buddy only found ONE Sunfire of my generation at the junkyard near him, so he grabbed all the wire harnesses for the lights and such. So

  • I'm photo sensitive. One time I drove with night vision goggles. I mananged to pass a cop LOL

does he do projector head lights?

  • Author

No, but he does have a set of 03-05 Sunfire Headlights (my old stock ones) that he is willing to try and make a set, if someone wants to pay for the parts. I didn't have the money at the time, and the only headlights those will work for are either mine or Sadies lol

Ok so no LEDs today lol! I did go to his house and i at least got to see them. All that needs to be done is get the one lens cover off and thats it. I did get a pair of front seats for my car though for free, so can't complain about that. I will post pictures of those tomorrow. So, he said he will work at those leds lights all day tomorrow seeing he has a full free day, so hopefully I can have them soon :D

Update, I guess my buddy has the whole day off tomorrow and he told me he will get them finished, so we'll see.

My buddy had a family emergency, so they are on hold again.

Still :pop_corn:

I'm not even caring right now lol! I guess when they get done then so be it. I'd be upset if he wasn't a friend. I'm not going to even think about it until I have them, otherwise I will just get my hopes up. Nothing else really in the news for me aside from some suspension related goodies that will be on the car sometime in the next few months (pending on when Sadie can hook me up with them), so that will be uber exciting! :dancingpontiac:

June, I'm betting. Whatever needs to happen with YC will be squared away by then, and we will have moved on to Cavalier dissection.

:lock:

oh wait, wrong one.

lmao! I was like wait, why locked :'(

I would just like to clarify that I hope I am not sounding mad or mean towards the tail light progress (or my buddy Jeff). I suppose some of my post may have seemed mean, but just for the record I am not trying to sound mad or angry, he is a busy guy and has some stuff going on now though that is a bit....terrible, I think is the word I am looking for. Also, Sadie when will YC be having her surgery?

Morgan, you worry too much

It is hard to get work done on YC since I'm three hours away from her. I'll post updates in her thread one of these days!

Ok so, I've had this issue since I owned the car pretty much:

http://s930.photobucket.com/albums/ad148/PulmonaryHobo/Wiper%20Issues/?action=view&current=100_6224.mp4

In case you don't have volume or can't stand the crappy quality of the audio, I will explain it here. On warm days, of around 70 and up, when I turn the car on or put it in any mode (besides off) the wipers will turn on, on their own. This lasts between a few minutes to about 10 minutes until they turn off. It never really bothered me because on warm days with no rain in the forecast I would just have fuse pulled, and if rain was in the forecast for that day, I would put the fuse in. Usually after about 20 minutes I will put the fuse back in and it will be fine for the rest of the day. We replaced the wiper switch already and it seemed to work, but it started doing it again, so I went back to just pulling the fuse. Any ideas?

has contact somewhere else?

  • Author

I dunno, it only does it on warm days, if its raining or cold it won't, so I'm not so sure how it being in contact with anything would be the issue. I did tear it all apart last year and didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but hen again, I have no idea what to look for.
