where they any brighter then stock? i see a lot of mixed reviews for different bulbs

Yeah, they looked great. Pay a bit more for quality ones. Don't forget potential dramas with indicators & hyper flashing. You'll need LED flasher can and prolly should do the front indicators as well.

I recommend the dual duty amber/white ones.

Thank you,I'll check out the double duty ones, for the front right? My front lenses are amber so I'm not sure how those would work?  I know about the flasher, have you used one that you know work good?

No - my cheapie also wasn't happy. Go for a brand name one.

I didn't realise your car has front amber lenses. I couldn't find dual duty white LEDs. I guess you'll simply end up with super orange front indicators.

Got the last quarter and door done with the patina stuff.

Removed the rear bumper and painted it inside, cleaned up the backup lights and license light. Installed new backup lenses and gaskets.

Painted the nose piece and gas door with a rattle can.

Still waiting for my painter ( daughter) to finish painting the grill and rear trim 😁

Was going to swing by OPGI and pick up a few miscellaneous things like screw kit and a glove box and some gaskets for lights on the way home on Friday when I got off early, checked on line during the week and almost everything was back ordered, may have to place another order with Ames but was hoping to avoid shipping.so that didn't happen.

9c sounds like our Winters 😄

Front end done, figured out that the parking lights are not on with headlights on and thought I could look good if they were so I investigated and found that I could move one wire at the connector for the headlight switch and now it works

Got the rear bumper and gas tank door on but still need to do some more adjusting.

Bumper installation got cut short after I slipped with a wrench and smacked myself in the fase and was bleeding all over the place, was not as bad as it looked,so my daughter cleaned me up and we called it a night 😵🙄🤬😜

Today i finally got my pos sand blaster to work after i ditched the container that was supposed to hold the sand and used a bucket instead but that was after I finally got some sand that was fine enough to go through.

Blasted these two little spots at the rear corner of the grove for the trunk seal that had some rust pits right through, put a copper backing piece behind and spot welded / grinded it down, came out better than I thought I would.

Dropped off my original black CA license plates this morning with my buddy to see if one of his coworkers would straighten them out so we can repaint them, they did an awesome job on my nose piece for the grill so we'll head to see.

Hello Andy,

I'm not loving that you are now bleeding for your Pontiac but at least you are making progress.

Could have been worse, could have been at work and there would have been a bunch of paperwork to fill out.😜

It really wasn't a big deal 😆  was almost time to call it quits that night anyway. Shit happens, have done worse 😊

Blood, sweat, cursing & dollars. All of these will gush forth at some point. I guess it's YOUR turn to bleed now.

Other than that, your workmanship looks superb, as usual.

Just some small stuff getting done, got the trunk seal rail painted and the seal installed, that was a bit of a pain to glue it in and not make a mess but it got done.

Wanted to add lap belts to the back seat and also replace the front ones, the problem was to figure out how long to order the rear ones so I got new ones for the front since I only had to measure the old ones and replace with the same.

Used the ones I got for the front and installed the in the rear and as I was hoping they where long enough so two more are on order.

Had to figure out where to drill the holes for the rears and was lucky and found instructions with measurements for a Chevelle online, almost the same in many ways.

Ordered hardware for the rears at the same time and I was surprised to see that the bolts are grade 5 🙄 so I think I will upgrade to grade 8 instead.

Got the taillights installed with new bulb sockets, stock the two outers was stop/ tail and the center one was only taillight, changed this and made all three brake/ taillight, I will upgrade later on and play with what LED bulbs to use.

Bumper is installed and back up lights work.

Needed new clips for the moulding on the edge of the trunk lid but neither Ames or OPGI has any but with the help of the interwebs I found a part # at Napa that should work but have not installed it yet.

Haven't updated in a while but finally started working on it again,it's been a bit hot out there but figured out that if I put up the EZ up and tie the car cover to it I get some shade.

Removed the back seat and door panels so I can fix the pwr windows, mainly the rears that won't go all the way up and down, well that snowballed when I started to dig out the old petrified roof rail seal and realized that I probably should paint the area under the trim that holds the seal so removed all that, sanded and painted.

While doing that I thought maybe I should remove the drip rail trim also and dig out the old body sealer for the drip rail also so I got that done without damaging the trim ( we'll see when it's time to reinstall it if it's ok). Reapplied new sealer and painted.

Next will be cleaning up the trim and reinstalling that.

I see your cat is eager to help...or it's looking for a pat.

Yes, trying but life tends to get in the way 😜

Yeah my "helper" always come and hangs out, have to evict him every now and then.

Soo, finally got the roof to side glass area finished/ painted on both sides, installed the trim and new seals.

Removed rear window regulators and got everything lined up, reinstalled and adjusted glass, I have heard that it's hard to find seals that fit good anymore, that they are to "fat" but these where perfect after sitting for a week with the windows up, maybe because these are over 20 yrs old, came with the car and was bought before my friend parked it.

I'm with you on your choice, Andy. I went to some effort (and expense) to source my vintage ones: red & chrome frame for the back and black & chrome for the front. They are period correct, genuine dealer frames and they perfectly offset the somewhat jarring visual that my crappy Queensland historic rego plates present. I'd love to display my black & gold 1965 CA plates but legally, no cigar.

Nice I wish mine where " the real thing" but have not been able to find a nice pair and they are asking a lot of money for them also so reproduction ones will have to do.😃

Replaced the dash bulbs with led .

The first one I tried was to white/bright so I found another one that was "warm" white and it looked a lot better.

I ended up using the middle bullion the first picture, second picture is stock,3td is with the to white bulb installed to the left and the last with all the bulbs replaced with the one's i liked.

Nice. I also upgraded my dash bulbs to LED. Mine are a very low wattage bright blue and I like them. Whilst I was fiddling around with the speedo casing I went to some effort to absolutely scub clean all my telltales and warning lights. What a difference that made. Now when I activate the indicators, my retinas are seared albeit just for a second, then again, then again..

Painted the plates and now I just need to get the daughter to paint the letters yellow when she has time between college and everything else she does.

Cleaned up the trim on the dash behind the switches, got the ac ducts behind the dash installed, damn it is tight up under there.

Got the new carpet but need to do a water test to see why i had water on the right front last time it rained before it gets installed.
