Style No = Model Year and Body Style = 56 - 2719D

- 1956 Model Year

- 2719D = "27" means Chieftain - 2719D is a Chieftain Four Door Sedan 860

Factory price was $2,294   41,987 were produced in 1956

Body No P  7071 = Assembly plant  and production sequence number

- P = Pontiac Michigan assembly plant

- 7071 = this was the 7,071st Chieftain 4-door sedan produced at the Pontiac MI plant during the 1956 model year

 

TRIM 261 = Interior trim and upholstery

- 261 = Medium Green Pattern and Dark Green Plain Cloth

 

Paint No.   LL = Body color and Wheel color

- LL = Glendale Green (body) + Hialeah Green (wheels)

 

TOP = not used in 1956

 

ACC - K = Accessories/Options

- K = Latex Foam Cushions, a $19.00 option

I have not found out what the RHD stands for next to the 261. Could it stand for Right Hand Drive? Maybe but I have not found anything in the decode books that support it. Also, since this was built in Pontiac, it's unlikely (but not impossible) that they would have built RHD export-only cars there.

Oh boy ! Me thinks some one is doing some shady tag swapping. Clearly this is not a Pontiac 4-door sedan built in Pontiac., by the looks of things.

haha.... look close at the pictures !! i can see tell- tails that she used to be a sedan.... with 4 doors... see if you can spot the clues :dancingpontiac:

Back in 1984 I bought my first brand new chainsaw .. Stihl 034 .. sadly . It died a couple of months ago … I intend to rebuild it … 

but I decided after 39 years I best buy a new one !!!

I talked to a lot of ppl about saws . What the boys in the bush are using and they all said the new m500i fuel injected was the bees knees

what a saw !!! It’s super impressive with its. Power . And it feels as light as my little 034 ! . 
watch out pine trees !! I am coming for you with more power !!! As Tim Allen would say ! Haha :cheers:

Four things that i see.

1. Picture # 10 shows the driver side. Poor body work shows the outline of the rear door that has been welded shut.

2. A true 2-door convertible would have slightly longer doors to let people in/out of the backseat. These are clearly stock 4-door doors.

3. The rear windows have been removed and covered over with metal. A real convertible would probably have roll down rear windows.

4. The triangular vent windows retains part of the sedan window frame and it is painted. Stock convertibles had rectangular vent windows that were chrome and had no window frame.

 i spotted those sedan iteams too ! someone has done a very nasty chop job !!!

Makes you wonder if they did anything to re-enforce the body and frame now that the roof is gone.

The GTO is JUSTA shame.  Murder the chrome,  Non Pontiac stripes, although done well. But the engine is left ratty and untouched.  Has A/C but I don't see the compressor.  Expensive missing part and asking stupid $$$ for a car where not everything works? ESP A/C with global warming!  Not a single pic of the underside....Must be too rusted to show.  Finally, removing the original Vin tags and replacing with whatever that BS is??  Really,  they made a clone into a GTO???  Prove it?  Now the TA seems to be a real looker.

100k for a car with a paint job and nothing else !!! sooo sad !, they dechromed it !!! 

i can see black over spray on the radio !!! whats with that !!. soo sad. this poor gto needs some love i feel !!:dancingpontiac:

the ta .. wow! thats cheap if a young guy wanted to get into a investment for the future !!
