  • The olds 442!in the background with the 22 inch Rims, has a hellcat engine and a hellcat interior in it now courtesy of this shop. And it looks like it came from the factory that way.

  • This brought back memories. My mate turned up at my place (drunk) and so, of course we had some more. Then it was time to go somewhere but he was too wasted to drive, so it was deemed more responsible

Trust me, it kills me every day. I need major league funds though. Figure I need between $25-40k to build, wire, plumb, insulate, paint, and equipe a new man cave. I have the property to do it. I just need to save my nickels and dimes for awhile. The new house has a 3 car garage that realistically is a 2.5 (the original owner was stupid on a lot of things - including the garage layout), which realistically means its a two car garage.

So there is not enough room for the toys, tools, etc. I had a 4 car garage at the old house and I could separate half of it to paint. It also served as my workshop and I could store both cars there too. Bigger, newer house for the family, but I had to give up the old 4 car garage to do it. I need to build a new man cave for everything else.

I plan to build a whole new garage/pole barn behind the house. According to the township, the max. size I can build is 36' x 24' without a deviation. So that is about 6 car garage. I want a lift in it and enough room for a large air compressor, perhaps a decent size blast cabinet, work bench, storage, and room to paint. I want some form of heat for winter work (hence the need for insulation) and some form of painted floor or 'race deck' flooring. Finished walls for wall art. Perhaps ceiling/attic storage for car parts and supplies or even an office. Cable TV/internet access too. Have to be to watch the game or race while I'm wrenching. Mini-fridge too. That's my dream anyway.

Epic! At that point you'd really have to pull me out of the garage if I owned something like that. Hell build it with a loft for another TV and "electronics" man cave and I wouldn't leave

Seriously though a lift in my garage would be ever so amazing.

Hope you get to do it Frosty!

Nice job! The pride in restoring parts instead of shellin out $$$ = Priceless.

Fantastic job Joe! I hope we get to hook up on Saturday.

Ringo, I helped a buddy install a 4-post lift in his summer cottage/winter storage in Caseville MI. It is there where he stores his '33 Willys street rod and '42 Pontiac Torpedo. It ran about $2k for the lift then. So I figure $3k for either a good 4-post or a 2-post. I definitely plan to build it with some sort of HD ready access. Have to be able to watch "the game" or "the race". Porn might also work ! LOL!

Always figured I have alot more time than $$$. So worth it if it can be restored instead of replaced. I'm so tired after today, tried to crash N JUSTA staring @ the ceiling.

Hmmmmm if anyone knows a safe way to pull these springs please share lol

In the past I've had a motor in the frame,I'm worried if i attempt it now it may jump off the floor jacks....whatcha think ?

Inner spring compressor. Can use em free @ Oriellys or Zone. Put your rim/tire on the opposite side your working on. Removing shock, insert compressor. You don't need to wrench it down alot, Justa nuff to take some tension off. Put your jack under the lower A arm N remove upper ball joint, then lower the jack slowly. Hopefully your Ball joints have been changed from stock and just bolted in. Saving you some time and hassle. Originals are riveted in and you will have to grind em off.

Thanks!

BUMMER..... Grind the tops off, heat em up N hopefully you can drive em out with a punch. Maybe look into Orielly's ball joint press with the compressor? You can beat on those forever N get extremely fustrated. Take an old one with you when replacing. Measure the hole against the new ones. The ones I recieved in my KIT purchased for the disk upgrade were the wrong size. Looked the same and are suppose to fit the hole snug. But too big will never go. I got MOOG's from Mazza's.
