By going west? You should be flying east for Honolulu. Ditto tor Vancouver.

The last time I was in London, the chippie just outside the Tower of London was rubbish. I don't recommend it.

The Scots say that English beer is like making love in a canoe. F'ing close to water. They're right, I much prefer a Scottish lager.

Are you going to watch the British Open this week, which happens to be in Northern Ireland this year? I was 17 in 1977 and went to the British Open at Turnberry (West coast of Scotland). Great round of golf ever! Tom Watson beat Jack Nickalas on the 18th hole. I was there! Awesome experience.

Got time and plans to eat some haggis and spotted dick?

When I was in London in 2016, it started raining when I got off the Eye. Ran and ducked inside the first thing I got to... a McDonalds. Can say I've been inside a McDonalds on 3 different continents now between North America, Europe, and Asia rofl.

Hey, I was overseas too...to Groote Eylandt where I work. When I try and write something on FP using my phone, it doesn't like it - really slow, so I haven't been doing too much commenting: a relief to all, I imagine. Did 12 days straight and got home this morning. Will get around to sending some pics of new digs in due course. Got too much going on. Need to see orthopaedic surgeon about my floppy foot and have joined local car club so need to catch up with them for our inaugural personal introductions on Sunday.

This week's chores? Carting endless ute & trailer loads of crap to the Tip.

Beer? Yes please.

Kiwi, you dog! Have an awesome time!

Even better justA ! I found a pub justA round the corner from our motel that does bangers n mash 😜

Me thinks Kiwi is trying to live up to the term "pub crawl" whilst he is London.

London is undoubtedly one of the world's great cities but I wouldn't like to live there. I used to work in London (briefly) back in the late 80s at Harvey Nichols department store - Harrod's was their direct competitor. I was a roustabout - only needed beer money at the time.

Anyway, I recall having to work office hours which meant commuting on the Tube at peak hour. Now remember, this is almost 40 years ago. The trains would come every 3 mins during peak periods, but it didn't matter- the station was already full when they turned up, masses of people still coming down the escalators and when the train doors would open - the carriages were already full. The first time this happened I stared at the sardine like carriage blankly until I received an almighty shove in the back and myself and the ensuing crowd kept squeezing into the already packed to capacity carriage whilst the doors were trying to close. I stood there with my nose in someone's armpit wondering how on earth people could put up with this.

Meanwhile in Australia, you're lucky if the damn train turns up!

And once again, I have hijacked your thread.

I could never live in a big city either. Love my time visiting them and living in Tampa for university but not now. Older I get the less patience I have for idiots and self-centered people lol
