Seems to me if king Charles Iii was a real man there would be Queen Diana instead of the floozy that's in there now. No offense to the British people but Diana had everything a Queen should be. The current one will never more than Charles's summer fling.

Kiwiboni64 - Thank you for such enjoyable pictures and descriptions!! Must be fun!!!!

Sorry about that. I meant to say 64kiwiboni.

I would be worried that you couldn't find a chippie shop in a fishing village. Glad you found one.....and of course, beer!

I will admit I know nothing about Berwick. What made this village an attraction for you and the missus?

Lol, he he!! rofl

If you and Fitzy come to Michigan, you and your wives won’t survive Bronners in Frankenmuth. It’s supposed to be the world’s largest Christmas store. Open everyday except Christmas, New Years and I believe Thanksgiving!

Now up the road a bit is a micro brew pub! And down the road a wee bit is Tony’s!

We walked a lot today , but first stop was the York minster ,,,, my fav of these following pictures are the gargoyles where sooo my favorite!!!!

This cathedral was first established in 627 !!! And the construction went all the way into 1200 ! And features very early English gothic ! You can see all around the exterior the wear of the elements on the stone work

Very very impressive

Wow those are really some pictures!!

Is there concrete holding all those bricks in place along the walls and buildings?

It would be hard to believe.

Those gargoyle pictures, I swear I saw a picture of my third grade teacher! She was the mean ugly one. I don't remember anything that she taught but I'll never forget her!

Hey Chris, it looks like you are having a really great (tiring) time, for sure. Those pictures of York bring back some memories for me, as we were there a couple of years ago, and saw all the same amazing stuff. Walked the wall, drank some beers and wine in a haunted pub etc. Keep the pics coming.

I think the stones have lime between them Neal , they wouldn’t have had concrete back then . What gets me is how did they cut the stone and lift it into place ?????? I couldn’t imagine generations of stone masons working on justA one building !!!!!!

It took over 600 years to construct !!!!
