It was built in 1930 , added onto in 1955 and was coal fired … it was decommissioned in 1983 after fitzy visited ! … not sure what he did

Took fitzy under ground to Camden markets today

Hello Scotland !!!!!

Had a fantastic train ride to Edinburgh

And we are staying right opposite Edinburgh castle !!!

The view from the round windows in the motel !!!

Up 5 flights of stairs !!!

And it’s great to be in a city full of ice cars !!! Not a ev in site !!!!!

It wouldn’t be Scotland without tartan !!!

First day walk about

A walk around day today , royal mile

Listen to some bag pipes

Tried a Scottish eggs benni

And had a walk through the village of dean

The boss dragged me through countless shop

And look justA ! I found another Hard Rock Cafe !!!

Ah Edinburgh! My family has always loved the Royal Mile! Did you tour Holyrood Palace too? The place is something when the tatoo is going on! One thing I want to see is the Greyfriar’s Bobby statue.

Man I need to go back to Hamilton (outside Glasgow) to see my aunt. She use to own a pub too. She sold it about 10 years ago so she could retire.

Are you heading up into the Highlands at all?

Oh and what do you think of the beer in Scotland?

No frosty we haven’t done the palace tour yet , very interesting that you said about your Scottish family …. We wondered into a kilt makers yesterday were they asked us our last names … mines English . No brainer there ! But the boss ! She’s Scottish- Irish descendent . And over the years her maiden name has dropped the “Mac” from infront of it. Very interesting .

Not sure if we will have time to get to the highlands .. this adventure has 2 more stops to it yet !

Truely enjoyed Edinburgh castle today !!!

And being a plumber I can appreciate craftsmanship … I was trained to do lead work , but never really got to do much over the last 43 years !!!

This was impressive to me, a very old lead roof

This cannon is 500 years old and the mind boggles at the size of the cannon balls it launched … see how big it is compared to my hand !

The oldest part of the castle is the 11 century Chapel

On the way out down the royal mile we saw these little guys! Amazing how they handle with being out in the day time

And frosty … we went and visited bobby !!!

What a story !!!!!

So sad !!!!

We enjoyed the hop on hop off bus around the city, then down to the docks to see Britannia, this was a very impressive tour !!! I highly recommend to anyone reading this !!!!!!

Before boarding we walked through the museum … some very special pictures and some familiar faces !!!!!

In the king and queens separate offices you can spot a rug …. Each with a picture of New Zealand on them !!!! Very cool to see !!!

The queen would take her series 2 Land Rover and rolls with her on royal trips ……

The only problem was the rolls was too long ! So every time they loaded it up they would have to take the bumpers off so it would fit !!!!
