Great shots kiwi. I'm not sure that anyone in the US would allow a flame thrower vehicle, much less a jet dragster to fire up on a grassy lawn, simply as a fire hazard, much less actually burn part of it. Someone would sue the organizers if they did, most likely.

Still great stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Man - AWESOME pics. That ol' Mack looks to be an ex Australian army vehicle. They were used for all sorts of things. I liked the Zephyr convertible. Were they ever a factory offering?

Years ago, I read about a general concern amongst US petrolheads that they were worried about the amount of US heritage (in the form of collectable cars) that was disappearing overseas. I think we now know where most of them ended up! For such a small country, you guys have the best stuff.

You need a plumbing assistant, don't you? I'm ready.

Edited by Fitzy

Fitzy - while I agree with you that a large number of American collectibles are in the Lands Down Under, a sad reality is that many cars, mostly stolen, are illegally exported to Northern Europe or the Middle East.

A friend of mine owned Dodge Viper #9 (he personally gave Bob Lutz the keys to Viper #1). It was stolen from his summer vacation home in northern lower Michigan. They found the LoJack anti-theft device for the car in a dumpster in Atlanta, and figured it was probably put on a container ship bound for Sweden out of Miami.

I read yesterday that they had 2000 entrants at beach hop this year , and I guesstimate there was another 5000 that came to see them like I did ! We so dont enter because we don’t fancy sitting in hour long ques for each of the five days the event runs for

They certainly did factory built rag top Z cars mate

there are 2 that I know of here in Taupo

You apprentice plumber

your funny Pete

do you like crawling under buildings . Unblocking shit filled toilets

melting ice off roofs so you can walk up them .   Yeah nah …

Thinking about it ...... you would be perfect !!! then i dont have to do it !!! you can do the work, i will become management

For a measly 50 NZ bucks an hour, I'm your man.

What's all this about snow & ice? I'm used to melting in extreme humidity, not having to have ice chipped off me if I stand still for too long.
