Sounds like you've done my homework Del.

I guess the new assignment is where can you get the proper oil pressure sender, right?

One of the first things I noticed was transmission fluid leaking. We continued to drive the car and monitor the fluid level. Once the car was shipped to Florida I was ready to work on it. The transmis

Feeling a little freedom to get loose with current motor before pulling it. After school today my son says “floor it”! Now how could I say no?

I like to daily drive the car so I want it mostly stock. I don’t care for the deep idle that feels like a plug is out.  Original heads with new rocker arms. High performance timing chain. New pistons .30 over. Standard bearings. I added a mild cam and lifters from edelbrock.

Big day today! Christmas in January. The delivery of motor, transmission, and dash came. I spent most of the day taking the parts off the dash. Almost too many to list. I was like a kid in the candy store; clock, ignition, ac/heat controller, wiper switch, drive park display, lighter, ashtray lights, speedometer box, radio, speaker reverb, headlight switch, total wire harness with fuse panel. Tons of cool stuff. Now I have a dash for ac if I decide to add it to Bonnie #1. Tomorrow I will check out the motor and transmission. I can’t wait!

Yes. It would need to be repinned.

I have been searching for replacement pins to recrimp/rebuild  the fuse panel. So far nothing. I think most people buy a replacement harness but the wire harness is fine except for the fuse clips which are rusted and pitted.

oh ! perfect !! you can use this loom to make your rally gauge set work perfectly!!!... rearrange the loom by moving the sender wires for the fuel and temp over into the main speedo loom, and move the tell -tail light wires for oil and temp over to the 3 angled gauge cluster... 2 new sender units to make the temp and oil gauges work... and your basically have a plug n play set up !!

hmmm, someone must make those fuse cradles !!! millions of gm cars had them .... i would rebuild that fuse block, maybe after market fuse cradles are the same??? then its justA soldering job ???

And some one made millions of those fire wall plugs.... each of those pins can be pushed out and replaced

After 17 months I finally have the rebuilt original motor back in! I put 2600 miles on the loaner motor while waiting. Now I have a nice backup motor for a quick substitute if ever needed. This was the plan since motors are not getting any cheaper or easier to find. She runs great! Lookout tires, your going to get burned off! I added the electric fan to keep her cool

Thanks! The car came with the edelbrock 1406. This guy sells them https://www.ebay.com/itm/384910080026.  I did rebuild it a while back. Seems good but I hear an air leak from some unknown place. My co-pilot is my new shepherd. My last one passed a while back. This is my 3rd German shepherd and he’s awesome. Big, smart, and lovable. The perfect accent to the beautiful 64 Bonnie.

Your right, I’m getting good at the engine swap after four times.

I got avs2 installed and took it for a test drive tonight. I waited through the red light for 3 cycles and didn’t get the green arrow.  Decided to lay some rubber through a red light. The police at the intersection didn’t like it and hit me with the flashing blue lights and siren.  Maybe he liked Bonnie or Elvis my co-pilot, just gave me a warning. Go Bonnie!

It’s not fun having to chug your beer, throw the cell phone in the floor and slide the pistol under the seat all at once. Lol
