The super hydromatic and Jetaway are the same transmission.

I plead Two lanes plea! I’m old and confused, just call me Joe😜! I meant the Slim Jim tranny! Or in Pontiac I believe they called it Roto Hydromatic.

thank you for the supportive words Last Indian. the 1963 pontiac shop manual calls my trans a super hydromatic, the code is pbs 64  on the metal tag

the book says that roto hydramatics where never fitted to the bonnevilles

my research says its called a jetaway 315

if you can find any info that will help me confirm this would be great

Look at the number of pan bolts. A super hydromatic should have 14 or 15 depending on the year and a slim Jim has I think 21.

Is that a legal plea you can even cop in this country Last Indian, er I mean Joe? I know, I know, that's your story and you're sticking to it! Admittedly, it's at least a good defense. LOL!!!!!

Yes you do. Please send all donated beverages to Fitzy, 3rd shed on the right with the big loud red car, far north Queensland.

Here are screenshots of what's available, but bear in mind these are specific to my car. I'm sure if you go to Rockauto and go to Closeouts, you'll see a list for your car. Those prices are CHEAP.

Really good news!!

Yesterday ,Christmas day, i had beers with my good mate and his wife from down the street and he was telling me how his 4l60e had killed itself in his chevy truck, and he had called a old guy from Rotorua( 1 hour away from us) and he was making a special trip down today( boxing day) to check out this truck and trans....well i justA asked what does he rebuild.... turns out he only does classic car auto trans rebuilds !!!!

big light bulb moment !!!

so today, my mate and the trans guy turn up at my place and he knows very well how to rebuild jetaway315 transmissions! he even gets his rebuild kits from fatsco ! , so i shook his hand and said i will deliver my jetaway too him and he was more than happy to rebuild it....

And who says beers with the boys isnt productive !!!!!:rofl:

A little while back i posted a picture of a 61 ventura 2 barrel air cleaner i won for a dollar on a auction site. Today when i got home i thought it was time to show you all what i was going to do with it... the pictures pretty much explain my idea!!  and took about an hour to make the modification:cheers: which was great, its 38 c here and its got to be beer o clock!! blood heat!!!

oh JustA6 will relate to this ! my hay contractor guy hasnt turned up yet!! i have 2 paddocks full of clover and rye, waiting to be bailed!!, i dont need any, as i have most of my hay from last year but my mate next door wants to buy the lot!

i had a 42mm diameter air intake and now i have a 100x30mm oval air intake... it must help with air flow!!... but keep it looking stock-ish

bit of prep and black paint tomorrow and it will be done... thought i might get a new decal for it off pontiworld for it,:dancingpontiac:

i am waiting on my rockauto balancer sleeve order!!! ( thank you to Fitzy) if that turns up i can pull the front off the engine and get the new seal in and test drive her to ensure the front seal leak is sorted before she goes on the hoist and i pull the jetaway!!

The trans guy is ready when i am!! so perfect time to pull it and set what will be a much bigger plan into motion... while the trans is out and the girl is on the hoist, i am going to refurbish the 8 lug drums, alter the spring heights,,, front going up 30mm backs going up 40 mm. and i think it will sit where i want it.

new wheel bearing will go in along with new brake shoes and replace all the springs in the drum set.

And like Fitzy 65 project, i am working towards vinning and making her road legal.... for new zealand

i will be sending my seat belts away once everyone's back at work, as they need to be restored and made compliant... really not a major job, but yet another box ticked that i know it would fail at the inspection she will go through...

for you guys state side... we have a really pita system that keeps changing and all us car guys and gals have to jump through fire hoops to keep our classics on the road legally...

hmmmm wonder if my 64 needs a covid pass???
