  2. Frosty, what is the part number for my trans mount on the 64? for the factory auto? i have a nz company supplying me all my front end rebuild gear and they want me to give them a description of what trans mount i need
  3. you must have good eye sight Last Indian!! nice job how do you hold the copper in place ?๐Ÿ™„
  4. geees !๐Ÿ™„8k of rust ! i think shes past rebuilding๐Ÿ˜ฅ
  5. Oh wow!!! that looks just like state highway 1 through the center of New Zealand mate!!! bloody wrong aye ! i also note those pot holes had been patched before too!!
  6. i recon it was your wit Justa6 ! You spun her wheels with your charming wit ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Ah Wrong way you may very well get away with a complete pull apart/ check and reassemble the bottom end, dont spare any money on cleaning though! or it will bite you in the arse just take your time go through everything, any questions ask these guys, thay know there stuff i would certainly get that block chemically cleaned. when you take everything apart ensure its all marked so it goes back were it was living! all bearings pistons main caps lots of builders like last indian will center punch their main caps to id which one they are. and the cool part about what you are doing, is your learning as you go mate,
  8. Yes justa !! OHHHH, these buggers should be acountable ! you can see in the right hand corner this pot hole was not a virgin! its been patched before, i am still pisted about it and the fact the car will be out of action for weeks i had it towed to my panel shop, and they are saying it will be weeks to get the parts as its a coopers works model(aka special ๐Ÿ˜œ) and all parts come out of the uk! nice !๐Ÿ™„ Now if that was a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville, it would have hit that hole and just laughed at it! not so with this modern stuff!
  9. So last week i had a truck back into my work van, this morning the wife hit a pot hole on her way 1 hour north on state highway and bent the front strut, smashed the rim and tire on her brand new mini! More paper work !!!๐Ÿ™„ insurance recons i cant go the land transport agency for the damage๐Ÿ˜ก i took a picture of the pot hole and had a cop there to warn other motorists, but when i got to the car and very up set wife, there was 2 other cars down the road, also with damage to their cars very Pist off๐Ÿ˜ก
  10. wrong way, i see some nasty looking water galleries mate, you should consider pulling the block and and going over the whole bottom end along with a good clean up๐Ÿ™„
  11. Haha @ the ames page!! what is a brake booster REPUILD KIT ๐Ÿ™„
  12. Frosty, i nearly fell over ! i have not seen another 55 ponti 2 door hard top in nz! it looked way cool, and the dash... just chrome to the max. very stock looking but what a treat!
  13. Saturday i called into my favorite parts store to nut out my header issue on the Q and look what was sitting outside
  14. Looking for some feed back guys/gals. what is the better brand of door and window seals to buy? i have looked at rock auto with their metro brand and amazon...( rock auto are out of stock) https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Moulded-RKB-2009-106-SUPERsoft/dp/B0072GWQE8 and also topsonline brand who state a 15 warranty. but really i have no idea what brand to run with. this is for the 64 Bonneville 2 door hard top, which my research shows that 64 implala has the same roof rail seal rkb 2009106 I am also trying to find someone who makes urethane a arm bushes for the 64 too, anyone seen any? ๐Ÿ™„
  15. oh nice fitting set up mate๐Ÿ‘ and you found your issue๐Ÿ‘
  16. Wrong way !!! oh my gees! you have certainly had it ruff mate ! you must have pulled your hair out with this on going saga!!!! at this point, stop .... have a beer and do the basics, this little air test will be important. bear is bang on, these things are just a compressor. nothing to teck about a engine but everything has to work in harmony or it gets way mess ! haha
  17. You can use an old spark plug and knock the ceramic center and the metal electrode out of it with a hammer and a punch and grind or cut the electrode off the bottom and weld a Male fitting to the remaining outer part of the plug...That fits your chuck on the air hose and use it for pressurizing the cylinder.. i like two lanes idea above !!!๐Ÿ‘ what i did wrong way was i used a compression tester gauge that had a hose and fitting on it , chopped off the gauge and shoved a 3/8 hose tail into the flexible hose with a clamp and screwed a air coupling to that 3/8 thread. easy .... here is a picture of it hell, if you lived around the corner i would give it too you mate!...๐Ÿ™„...but i am a little bit further away!๐Ÿ™„
  18. I would just ensure you have a good air tight hose and connection to each of those cylinders in question mate and ensure that both the valves are completely shut ( take covers off and check for broken springs turn motor over till you see both valves are shut) And listen๐Ÿ˜œ you will either hear air coming back up the carb or out the tail pipe or both! i dont think you have a piston ring issue or you would still have had a better compression reading, Last indian is bang on, its valves not sealing or my gut feeling is broken spring maybe either way, the air wont lie haha
  19. have a really good look at the valve springs on those two pots Wrong way... you may find the issue
  20. Well done Wrong way. a good test you have 2 pots with dodgee valves mate i am with bear here, compressed air will tell you where all that compression is going.( leak down test) i had this same issue with my 96 dodge ram, i found a broken valve spring was causing the issue.
  21. Oh frosty, led dash lights what a great idea, you must show us what they look like when your done !
  22. Thanks Stratman, i am really happy with it.
  23. wow ! wrongway, i think it would be worth doing a leak down test too, to find if its rings or valves causing the issue. the 2 pots with no compression suggests valves not sealing and possibly even cam timing too
