  1. number 2 mate, daughter has a son thats 2, hes poppas mate πŸ‘
  2. assembled the new clips and just for the hell of it, i put anti seize lube on them, which may or may not make a difference long term. and gave the head light buckets a clean and rattle can recon, just make them tidy. its so damn cold here that my paint wont set, so thats it for today. i will assemble them when i get a chance.... still waiting on my grand daughter... she still hasnt made it into the world yet and shes 4 days over due now ! To be noted is that these adjusters are just the same as any one with a 58-61 pontiac has too!
  3. So today, Sunday, i got an whole hour to work on my light project in the caddy ginny pig i bought the new light adjusters out of my good mates shop in Auckland, Chucks restoration suppliesπŸ‘ at a cost of $53.00 And removed the head light buckets, with all their old worn, cracked adjusters and 61 years of hard workπŸ™„
  4. i am with Bear here wrong way!!! oh my god!, i was always told 36 was the sweet spot MAX or you start breaking stuff i think you need to go back to basics and even check your timing wheel is correct!,
  5. Haha, not even sure what caused the bloody Hernia Frosty, but you could be right !might have been the boss! 😜 hahha i do enjoy my fishing, mostly surf casting and just getting out there and standing on the beach with no one ringing me, not working, just peace and quiet ! sometimes i throw a couple of beers in the chilly bin just for fun, to keep me happy as ! but only a couple! we made the mistake once of taking too many and it just go messy!! hahaha, but still fun looking back
  6. It was driving me mad that i could not use the side door this week, so i got the portapower out and gave the side sliding door a little 3/4 push forward and and a couple of very special... lets say recalibatration adjustments !!!!πŸ™„ And now i can use the very bent side door, i am so bloody flat out @ work i need this van to be working! You spend years not having a smash and when it happens, its just a pain in the arse ! insurance... paper work van off the road... pain in the arse moving all my gear/ stock into some other vehicle... pain in the arse i think i might just retire and head to the beach. stuff it πŸ˜¦πŸ™„ sit on the beach, try and catch fish and drink beer!
  7. Wrong way, i am with Last Indian on this one, its a recipe that pic of a square bore spacer and gaskets is not your set up, last indian will give you the plus's and minus about a inch spacer. my though is dont use a spacer, think old school Q jet and have a full gasket that separates the primarys from the secondarys Its the best set up for street use dual plans rock for street you have lots going on and just take your time and sort each issue , stop... back.... up have a beer and then move to the next step Other wise it turns into a mind f-uck and some people just stuff it up big time, your a thinker so just go old school and plod it out bud πŸ‘
  8. Oh mate, having a drift in a 707hp any car would have been soooo cool! its something i have never done.πŸ™„
  9. I have to agree !! way cool budπŸ‘
  10. Wrongway Last Indian is on to it mate, one thing i would note is those clear dizzy caps are sh-t and good on you for using ngk, they are good πŸ‘, show us the other end mate, that will tell a whole lot about your fueling. personally i think your getting there but you have more that 2 issues here ayeπŸ™„ Last Indian knows his stuff and i am reading this with great interest
  11. Hmm, i have a good mate with a 440 69 charger who just hangs out big time to go racing... he is a ex stock car racer and likes street racing just for shits and giggles We had a play a few years back, me in the orange 72 camaro and he kicked my arse , but he has been pushing to get me out there in the hellcat to have another go!, am keen but soo cant tell the boss she would kill me! hahaha
  12. he was going quiet slow but fast enough for me to not get out of the way!πŸ˜” She didn't worry about it much other than to say, that when the van goes in for the repairs would be a great time to get that surgery i have been putting off! ( have a hernia that needs fixing)πŸ™„
  13. Yes last Indian, there is that big heat sink on the back of them, ( on the h4 bulbs) ( the h1 have fans )you would need to be careful that you had the room. Also the big thing for me with going for the leds is their life span is way better than the hids and i see i get a good 2 year warranty, and expected life is 8 years , but that must be based on normal usage, which i would be lucky to do 1000 miles a year in any of my cars total, even less at night. i am looking forward to getting the replacement light adjusters, setting them correctly and going for a burger run in the darkwith the boss😜
  14. What did you do on your car today Kiwi??? i bent my work van, a gas bottle delivery truck backed into me!😞 Took out my drivers door and side sliding door
  15. If my early electrical training is correct, dividing wattage by volts = amps My old sealed beams where consuming 20 amps on high beam with the 5.4 amps now, which must be easier on the whole system and alternator
  16. i went with the leds thanks to my auto electrician recommending them as to being way better than hids, no wiring issues and less load ment no requirement to add relays at all. total load is now 5.4 amps with all 4 lamps on. below is the sealed beams on high and below the leds on high. To be noted is what Last indian said, the cibies have a great line and i can see in the dark again!!!! sealed beams leds
  17. Hay frosty, yes they are 5 3/4 here are the Cibies with the leds all set to go. but first some pictures of what i am dealing with... I am using the new girl( 59 caddy) as the test bed the lights were all over the place but here is some pictures of how useless they were and here is the new leds on my drive way i did have an issue with the head light adjusters being all cracked and i have ordered new ones today which was why the old sealed beams were all over the place.
  18. Today (friday) i have all my parts to change my headlights, i will be using the new girl(59 caddy) as my test bed for what i have. i have on hand 2 x h1 cibie seamy seal lamps and 2 x h4 cibie seamy seal lamps, made by Valeo and... i am going led !😜 With philips units, not cheap by any means but i dont want to be changing them every year, i want them to last, and my research says they are just as good as hid units but draw less current and last longer. Along with the fact they are a plug n play unit where as the hid you do have to wire them in ... trust me i have no idea here as i have never done this before.... i buy a head light and change it, i have never done a upgrade like this!πŸ™„ now here is the kick in the guts, these led are illegal here!! even though they are readly available, nzta say your not allowed to do what i am doing, so.... for anyone reading this, i will be using this set up for "off road use only" ... in nz.... hahahhahahhahha Plan is to take some pics of before and after for you all, so you can see the results, this is my plan for this weekend..... but.... sounds like the daughter is going to have her baby.. lets just see if i can make my plan work!! worst case senaro i am a poppa again by monday and i dont get the head light job done πŸ˜„
  19. your on to it Wrong way its as easy as buying the wrong pumpπŸ‘ been there done that... thats the cool part about cars... you never stop learning 😜
  20. last indian, your bang on the money mate! if that rod was not lubed, it would take 100 miles to kill the end of it and or the lobe !
  21. faulty fuel pump Wrong way change it out and try againπŸ‘
  22. wrongway, can you look down the carb pull on the lever and see fuel squirt down the throughts ? on the primarys ( front )
  23. Hmmm good thought Frosty, think i have a cracked one some where, will have a look πŸ‘
