  1. No worries Joe - depending on the spatter paint manufacturer, they may or may not recommend a clear to seal it with their paint "system". Check yours to be sure. The brand that I used did recommend a clear. I remember mine being very rough to the touch when I finished with the spatter paint and the clear helped smooth it out a bit plus the benefits of sealing it.
  2. You can't fix stupid and you can't institutionalize it either - there is too many of them !!!!
  3. Amen brother. That's a awesome picture Killer. Brings added meaning to the words "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee." doesn't it? >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf3e9Cl1-Bs
  4. Joe - she looks great. I re-sprayed my trunk with spatter paint a few years too. I know what you've been through buddy. Did you put down a clear coat to seal it or do you plan to? I think they make a flat clear for the spatter paint. A couple of cans will do. I approve of filling the hole too. It looks great.

    OK

OK guys, if you've ever seen the picture that I use of my Lemans in the FP Garage, it is parked next to GM Futureliner #10. It is owned by the National Automotive Truck Museum of the United States (NATMUS) in Auburn Indiana. It is one of 12 built by GM between 1939-1940 for its Parade of Progress. These custom built buses toured the country in the 40s and 50s with various futuristic science and technology displays of the day. This is the only fully restored Futureliner in existence, the others have been customized or changed in some other way, or they are still being restored. The last I knew, only 9 of the 12 Futureliners had been located (one was badly damaged and being used as a "parts" vehicle). http://www.futurliner.com/other.htm While watching Velocity channel last night, a new promo for the 2-hour season finale of "Bitchin' Rides" is showing the restoration (and I presume some customization) of a GM Futureliner. This 2-hour episode airs Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 9 pm EDT on the Velocity channel (a Discovery channel network). I have no idea if this is one of the nine known Futureliners or if it one of the previously un-located ones. We will have to find out together.
  6. We got to get together with the missuses and have dinner there and cruise Woodward some time prior to the WDC. Invite JUSTA, DK, and Indymanjoe to come too. Possible WT social eating event?
  7. In case you missed the Vinsetta Garage TV show on Velocity channel - here is the link to it. I am not sure if they are rerunning it right now or not. http://www.velocity.com/tv-shows/velocity-classics/videos/vinsetta-garage.htm It was hosted by Courtney Hansen.
  8. Question - is your car suppose to have an air dam or air deflector that forces air from under the car across the radiator? If so, is it there? Is it damaged?
  9. Perhaps we should plan to meet on Bridge Day, drink beer, and watch all the crazies!!!! In some seriousness, I'd think you'd like the Rod Run and Doo Wop in Charleston. They have a poker run that runs up Route 60 and ends at the New River Gorge Bridge.
  10. Ditto with both front wheel bearings (at separate times) on my '04 4WD Avalanche. Made a helluva racket when they went bad...replaced them with Timkin bearings. Cost a few more bucks extra over the stock replacement but I had almost 42k miles on the bearings when I sold the truck with no issues. I plan to do the same thing with my '08 4WD Envoy Denali if they go bad too.
  11. Just goes to show that you don't always need the fastest car to finish first !!!! >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO5XC3A99_o
  12. So you were in the NE side of the state - between Moorefield and Baker. I have not spent a lot of time in that neck of the woods.
  13. According to the guys in the Buick forum, the port holes on the Lucerne were real. I can't comment on the Buick's produced currently since I haven't driven any of them, I suspect you may be right though. http://buickforums.com/forums/threads/3354-Port-Holes-Vents-on-Lucerne
  14. Ok - this looks like I should know where this is - Grand Bend area? Where were you? Fayettevillle County? New River Gorge area? Hawk's Nest? Agreed - Smoky Mountain National Park is awesome - so is the Blue Ridge Parkway and darn near anywhere in Appalachia or New England in the fall. Northern Lower Michigan or the Upper Peninsula is great fall driving too.
  15. In all seriousness, Buick used their famous portholes to extract heat from the engine compartment. Three holes in each fender for a six cylinder and 4 holes for a V8. That started in the 50s with the Skylarks, Roadmasters, and Specials. Buick resurrected that practice with the Lucerne. A larger capacity or larger core radiator (say 4 core) should help cooling. Have you checked your radiator fluid is up to snuff too? If its old or crappy, its not doing you or your engine any favors.
  16. I nominate the following: Lobo Domesticado's '74 Ventura GTO - Last year of the GTO before its return in 2004 Eddie Cipollari's '73 Grand Am - first year of the Grand Am Jim67Tempest's '67 Tempest Convertible All three are cars that get overlooked in favor of the GTOs of different years. These cars stand out on their own, in my book. The '74 GTO was the best power-to-weight GTO Pontiac produced prior to the 2004-06 GTOs period according the late Pontiac historian John Sawruk. The Grand Am was introduced in '73 and brought European styling and performance to American tastes and became a huge seller for Pontiac for decades to come. The Tempest was a very affordable A-body car, and much cheaper on insurance than a GTO, with all the same options, if one so choose.
  17. The boobs in office already do collect your money sport. Its called taxes....on liquor. The bastards.
  18. That's the message of your normal message, isn't it? To use as many words possible to say the least amount of anything? Kinda like a politician.
  19. Once Vinsetta's (the garage) closed for good, it was purchased and converted into a restaurant in 2012. So the facade was changed somewhat. http://vinsettagarage.com/
  20. I agree with the guys Havoc. You can't get laid in the back seat of a tractor! The Farmall isn't as big a chick magnet as the Phoenix is either.
  21. I got a pretty good idea I know where this picture was taken. See any resemblance????? Thing is Vinsetta's was a 99-year old garage on Woodward Avenue before it closed for good and then was turned into a restaurant. Guess when my picture was taken?
