Still can't find a working discount code. Guess I am going to have to pay retail.

Curiosity? Afraid he posted pictures of his nude rear? Or the gut churning "Oh God, what the hell is he posting now?" reaction?

Frosty and gtorick71... look familiar?
Frosty replied to stratman's topic in General Pontiac Discussion
Indeed. I wonder what day it goes up for sale? Did you notice the write-up on this car? "For sale at auction: Lot #429 - Frame-on restoration of a Pontiac GTO convertible with original Build Sheet and lots of documentation. Straight body with very nice paint. Blue exterior with white interior and white top. Upgraded with 455cid HO V8 and Judge decals, automatic transmission, air conditioning and gauges. New convertible top. Runs and drives great." The VIN says it is a true GTO and this was the last year of the GTO convertible. Only 678 regular GTO convertibles were built and 17 more Judge convertibles were built. So unmolested, this car was still one of less than 600 built with the original 400 c.i. engine. Adding the 455 H.O. and Judge decals would make this car much more desirable in some sense, but it is a not a true Judge or 455 H.O. car, so this will hurt the cars ultimately value somewhat since these are not original to the car. Neat looking car all the same, and still very desirable. I would be surprised if it hit $100k though since it is not all numbers matching. -
Merry Christmas everyone !!!!

Agreed. The downside of globalization (for us) is it often means importing these vehicles from Europe or Asia. Virtually no new well paying manufacturing or engineering jobs are created in North America unless sales volumes are sufficient to warrant building these vehicles here.

If you are a fan of Bob and Tom show you've heard this before. Double entendre is a staple of the show. This Aussie took this sketch to the next level. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xfzxesxk_Yo

This is a gorgeous car on the the outside, I particularly love the uniquely bobbed rear fenders. I am not so much in love with the interior. Metal floors and bomber seats requires too much cleaning and polishing on the inside for my tastes. Give me carpet and leather or cloth any day. Nice though the accent on the inside. This baby has a got a helluva Hemi !!! A 528 c.i. Keith Black Hemi with a 14-71 supercharger !!!!! I'll bet this baby passes everything but a gas station.

Well that sounds like encouraging news on both fronts. OK so this guy has a history of mental illness, so who was his keeper and why wasn't he supervised? Or was he (at the time) not deemed necessary to supervise? I am wondering if there is some sort of potential lawsuit here for negligence.

As I said in the other post, this is probably the most expensive 2nd gen Trans Am on the planet, and it was not in the movie. Rather this one was given to Burt by Pontiac because the movie invigorated sales. All the cars used in the movie were destroyed during filming (there were only 3 to begin for the movie according to director Hal Needham).

Interesting that this '70 RAIV GTO has steel 14 x 6 wheels and dog dish hub caps and not Rally IIs. You don't see that very often these days. Those wheels would have been chucked for Rally IIs by the 2nd owner of the car a long, long time ago. That makes this restored car even more rare, find and restoring those wheels to make it factory correct.

What did you do to your Car today?
Frosty replied to killerspeed101's topic in Pontiac General Discussion/Questions
Damn straight....I've been to the Corvette Museum twice before, but the last time was in 2002 with my dad, on my way to Cruisin' The Coast in Biloxi Mississippi with the Lemans. I've never been inside the Corvette plant or taken the tour. Of course, I've been in a lot of other assembly plants though. -

The discount paperwork has come in. The option sheet has been checked off. My buddy is asking for early May delivery at the National Corvette Museum (option R8C). With that option, it comes with a personal guided VIP tour of the Corvette assembly plant across the street as part of the delivery package. So I guess I am going to Bowling Green in the spring. Yahooo!!!!! -
Sounds like that is a challenge Ghosty!!!! Watch it smart guy !!!

I saw regular unleaded for $2.09 near my dad's house last night. I had to do a double take.

Indeed - probably the most valuable 2nd-gen Trans Am on the planet.....$450,000.00 His Bandit jacket sold for $34,375 and a license plate sold for $5,937. Quite an impressive all for Burt as well as the Smokey and the Bandit collectors.- 8 replies
