Saw this posted on another one of my forums, I lol'd.

I'd totally take a ride on that LA gangland tour.

I know that Seattle and LA cannot, in any way, be compared in terms of gang violence, but I feel somewhat comfortable in the most notorious neighborhoods Seattle has to offer. It's a bit of a smack in the face from what I'm used to, living in the rural countryside like I do, but there seems to be an understanding between myself and the people I run into.

A few years ago, while visiting a friend in Rainier Valley, (Seattle's most prominent gang controlled area) I had a gun pulled on me. I was walking out of a gas station to hop back in my truck, when a Ford Explorer roared up in front of me, and the unmistakable shape of a Beretta 92 came out the window.

"Where you from bitch?" Came the question from the window.

"Uh, I'm from Stanwood..." I calmly replied, figuring the guy wouldn't know exactly where that was, and therefore be unable to render an unkind opinion of my hometown.

"Why you rockin' an Everett shirt then? You gonna get blasted nigga..."

I regarded my jersey, and asked "What? You don't like hockey?"

"Bitch, I don't watch hockey... Goddamn, just get the Fuck out of here 'fore I tag you..."

With that, he pulled away, but I could tell he was on the edge of smiling and shaking his head at the dumb ass cracker he'd just tried to engage in violence, and was stopped cold by pure and profound ignorance.

I suppose that wearing the 'colors' of a rival town to the north was just asking for trouble, but who is honestly going to smoke someone for being a hockey fan?

FWIW, I am alive...

Been busy and had to kind of select what forums I frequented and unfortunately, FP along with my Madden site have been neglected. I have since purchased a new car (Still have the Grand Am) for daily driving. A bright yellow 2003 Mazda Protege5... It works great and saves me a ton on gas.

So yeah, I'll try to frequent a bit more, but with summer coming up, my online time will probably become less and less every day...
