JustA, you run a msd setup right? Have you tried changing out the plug wires? Have you gone through the entire ignition? I ask because if you haven't, though it's probably not that, but if you remember my issue with the Camaro?!  Yours sounds like a similar sounding problem. There were other issues I worked through, but the thing that drove me nuts was the spark plug wires! Once resistance increased to a certain point as RPM increased the engine would miss & or backfire. Yet the way I actually discovered it, as I didn't suspect the wires at the time. Was when I was working on the car late at night. Took it out for a run to try & see once again if I could figure it out! Came back, pitch black outside, opened the hood & it was a light show! The wires were arching to ground all over the place. In an idle it wasn't enough to cause any noticeable issues in an idle or even free reved to 2000, but under load whole different animal. JustA my two cents buddy! Hope you're getting mended.

I don't have MSD. (NEW) Reg 45000 coil and upgraded to light trigger in my Mallory dist. many years ago.  Also new 8mm plug wires while putting the engine back together.  They were so old a number of em came apart when I tore the engine down.  Never gave a thought to checking the new parts, esp the coil. Excellent idea on firing in the dark!!!!   Thankz buddy    Have been through a couple months of PT now and have made progress on the dead spots in my stride.  Should not be this painful to walk 6 mo's after the surgery.  I really should get in the Bird and see if I can hold the clutch in.

You don’t need to bring the Bird or GTO either. You can bring the Ford Ranger if that makes things easier for you.

Sold the Ranger last Oct.  Bought an F150.   Back to full size after many years.  Ranger would not support car seats for the kido's.

Today was fun. I hit the road at 6:45 am. Got out of Indy and I had US52 westbound to myself!!!! Nothing but farm land once I left the interstate.

I ventured off the PT route and went to Pontiac Illinois and the Pontiac Oakland Musuem there. Then I went to the Standard Oil station in Odell. I stayed on Route 66 until traffic near Wlimington got stupid. I turned around, got on I-55 into Joilet.

I met 12-volt Dave Newbern today. Four fays ago, he was still thrashing on his 55 Chevy, there was no front clip and very little wiring done. He said hes beat and he’ll dleep for a week once he gets home!

I ran 14.016 s in Violet today at 103. I didn’t miss a shift but my reaction time sucks!!! Iys over a full second! Ugh!
