Either one would be very impressive for a G6. I'd go for the one that you like best, personally I would go N/A but that's me. I always find that if you get good numbers without going with boost more impressive than higher numbers with.

See either way I am doing the pistons, and if I do those I might as well do rods, since the '08+ ones are supposed to be weak. I'm also going to do a cam, so that requires the springs and retainers to be done as well. I could do a neutral balance shaft, but sadly I'm not man (stupid) enough. I'm also doing a tune with either route, as well as an intake and exhaust. So really the only difference would be adding the cost of the intercooler and supercharger. Which is $2K for the brand new kit, which includes the intake.

Well, this is no longer part of my car. Honestly the biggest PITA mod to date. It took about 3 hours with a hacksaw blade to remove. The worst part is perhaps the fact that it makes no difference, and once you get it out you realize it was a waste.

 and three hours?

Well, there is a tab in the back that sits about 1 inch from the frame so yeah, I would guess at least 1 1/2 hours of cutting that. Plus I spent some time chatting with a girl, so I guess you can take that time off. Oh, I also stopped for a few drinks. Then a buddy called to ask if I wanted a ride to tonights races. I guess I blew a lot of time in that three hour window. I really need to learn how to stay focused.....

^^^ill allow it! :lol::P

mm, waste of time. wait...a few drinks alone? or with a girl?

cool. did you go? and yes, be focused.

Nah, drinks were in the house, car was missing a headlight in the barn.

No sadly. I'm not sure who all did. I my buddy with the RB20 24sx went. I'll bet the "475" WHP Civic went. (Don't get me wrong the civic is fast, but not that fast.) Probably this pos, stupid fast, old as hell bike, that's always around. WS1 (?) Firebird (I think). My final guess would be a turbo eclipse that keeps falling apart. I would say the Evo but I don't think this is one of the three weeks out of the year that it runs. But this is just a guess of who all was there.

What's really bad, these guys race on Main Street.

Well, I may have to change my mind. I noticed a fair bit of increased noise between 2.5-4K RPM, while at 3/4 throttle. I didn't notice it last night, perhaps because I was tired, but today it was clearly there.

and what is this "increased noise" you speak of?

  • Author

I really hope its air entering the intake at a high rate of speed.

still think it was a waste?

  • Author

Well, as I finish this drink, and the memory of those three hours slowly dies, I would say it may have been worth it. Its defiantly a nice noise mod. You get louder, but in a good way. Its not the rice type of loud. As far as power, I really doubt there is a change. Now when I upgrade the rest of the intake and tune the car, I bet it will be different story. I would say its a decent supporting mod. I can't wait to finish designing this intake.

Well those pulleys that I ordered on 2-20-11 finally arrived. More to come after work.

Lol, it was a tad ridiculous. These things are insanely light though.

will you be installing them? and any gains or anything with them?

  • Author

Yeah, I'm going to put the car on a buddy's lift, since I'm lazy. As far as gains go, I think these were dyno'ed with minor gains. My guess would be 3HP. I think I paid about $250 for them shipped. Overall not to bad.

cool i think i should start making a performance parts list.

  • Author

Somewhere Phenom posted a basic list for our cars.

i think that was on G6P.
