A perfect choice. Sorry I haven’t participated in awhile but I’ve been in ICU at the hospital for going on my third month. I’ve been dealing with an infection and absesses from the bottom of my spine all the way up to my brain. I’ve died 2x and somehow bounced back. I want out and I want nothing more than to wrap. My hands around the formula steering wheel and just ride. Congrats to the owner of this beautiful Can Am. I hope one day to own a Can Am of my own.

without further adieu,I'm finally back home. I'm re learning the basics like walking, dressing, going to the bathroom etc all over again. My first priority was to start the GTO and get her running again. I cant drive yet as I still have very bad vision. I do want to get the car in for PF POTM for August. Sorry I was gone so long but I guess its better to be on the top side of the grass. Thank You. RG

Thank you boss. I’m working on it. Please gang don’t take for granted the simple things that you do in your everyday life. You never know when you’ll have to fight to get them back. I’ve been working on walking again since the middle of May. It’s a loooooong road back.

Glad your back home Ol buddy.  JUSTA being home has to be a great step up in your recovery.  You continue to be in the thoughts N prayers.

Bud - I had my own near death experience just a decade ago. Been there and lived to tell the tale. I spent a month in the ICU thanks to a ruptured colon and the sepsis that followed. My kidneys almost completely shut down. Lost 35 pounds of muscle mass in the process. I was so weak I got winded and exhausted just shaving. It was over six to eight months before I was healthy again. Don't rush it.

I learned the expression "I"d rather see you than view you!" and what it means to me and the people around me. That one hit me between the eyes and I've never forgotten it.

Damn dude. That really hit home fort me as well. I had sepsis, an abscess along my spine and brain, infection in my kidneys, liver,heart, and even poison in my bones. They called my wife 2x to come and tell me goodbye because they couldn’t do anything to save me. I appreciate your kind words and motivation. I will take your words to heart. It’s been a long 4 months and still more to go. Thank you bud.

Feel free to call me sometime and we can share experiences. I learned to cherish life a little more, I learned to love my family a little more. I learned what it means to pay it forward from the generosity that others showed me and my family while I was In the hospital. It can’t help but change you. You feel you’ve gotten a second chance and you hope like heck you don’t not screw it up.

Dont rush your recovery. Listen to your body. It WILL tell you it’s current limits. It will get better with rest, exercise, and time. Pushing too hard will cause more setbacks.

i suspect your wife hugs you a little tighter now. I imagine you hugger her a little tighter too. Good. Never lose that.

Hey Randy, really sorry to hear about your health issues, but great to hear from you and that you’re on the mend! We’re all looking forward to your continued improvement and posting when you get back in the saddle! 

Welcome back Rocket. Sorry to hear about your health problems brother. As somebody that was healthy one day and disabled the next bro I to understand how hard recovery can be. Use the family time and the rest to mend your body and mind. Move at your own speed bro, its not a race. Just know your in many prayers brother!
