I hear ya. I know I'm only 24, but I want somebody. I hate the dating game, I can't do flings, no strings attached fawk buddies. No way. But that's what everybody seems to do. And at the same time, I'm not looking for a cute chick to quickly fall in love and get married with, and have the "LOL HAPPILY EVER AFTER" unrealistic goal either. That's just stupid. Ugh.

I really don't want to be left with the "lonely nice guy" stigma in my life. Yet...here I am. I can't get a date to save my life. And when I do get a girl's attention, they end up leaving me anyway, EVEN IF I MAKE THEM HAPPY.

I'm in the same boat, I tried the "fawk" buddie thing with a girl I know, but it actually was not worth it, with no emotional attachment it just was not that fun. (and that realization was surprising to me to be onest)

I know there's one girl with who I get along amazingly well... but she has to live in Austria...

So far the one girl who I have had the best mental connection and best deep conversations with lives in freakin' Sweden... all the women I meet in Alberta are only interested in money... I hate money, I'm a barterer... even if i was rich I'd be the same.

You bring up a good point, wimenz want monies. Now, I don't need much to be happy. Hell, I could rent a small house for the rest of my life and I could be happy. I'm very simple, and I don't need a whole lot TO be happy. But because I'm not materialistic enough it seems, it might be one of the reasons women are uninterested in me. Just a hunch, as I don't really have any solid proof. BUT, to help back up my hunch...I live on Long Island, NY. Seriously...that's a reason. LI is home to some of the most selfish, conceded, greedy and ignorant people in the country. Working near a mall everyday, and especially when I venture into the mall, I see it all too much.

Am I too picky? I don't consider myself at all, but when the populace I'm stuck with is so judgmental and so materialistic...it makes it seem so, since I don't fall under the "radar" of the average LI woman. In fact, I've had three women tell me (on teh dating sites I use) that they're turned off by how I typed, said I was too much of a "smartsy" type for them. And yes, the three of them used that word. Then again, their profiles...they butchered the English language so badly, I have no idea of these people regularly communicate when they're typing to one another.

I've actually added in one of my dating profiles how much bad writing and grammar skills are a huge turnoff for me, and can be a dealbreaker. Ever since I added that little section, two girls messaged me to express their "disgust" with my distaste of terrible writing. saying something along the lines of:

"OMG, y are u so mean? ppl dnt have to typ out ther words online, its not becuz ther lazy or ignornt, its becuz thy dnt hav 2. ur so stupid, no wondr why ur single lol"

the fact that people actually have this thought process, and most are my age and younger...scares the ever living shit out of me. Why? These "ppl" are among society, embracing laziness and ignorance, and they're going to reproduce and perpetuate this "thought" process to their offspring, and next thing you know it, society will become a farce of itself, IE; Idiocracy. For those who haven't seen the movie, "Idiocracy", watch it. It's funny, and scary at the same time...because I DO see our society ending up like that if this crap continues.

Really they don't have to? I've noticed now that even talking in IMs with people and texting they don't use the stupid short terms anymore unless they're in a hurry or joking around. "u" and "lol" are probably the only ones I use, the rest of them just look like you're retarded and didn't pass elementary school I can understand the acronyms IE lol, brb, etc... because those take several words and make them shorter but you just say "Ther" for "Their" or "Typ" for "Type" you really are just lazy, no ifs or buts around it.

Another thing is I know how you feel Chris with all the stuck up people where you live, Naples literally gets everybody's stuck up people from around the world!

I've noticed the correlation between good writing/grammar and women not liking it too... I've also noticed some women don't like the man to be "smarter" then they are...

My older brother (31, I'm 27) is a lot like me, but he has terrible spelling and grammar skills, and girls flock to him... and then eventually screw him over, or try to anyway. It's actually a very scary thought that there really is so many women out there whose sole purpose in life is to use others and throw them away.

And that's a good point about the dude being the "smarter" one, but that seems to be the case with ditzy, popular types. I'll admit, I like the smart, gamer, nerdy/dorky like girls. I just get along with them better, and they seem to get my sense of humor and sarcasm better too.

Weather... woke up to coldness, when to the washroom and the taps don;t work... my pipes are frozen again, but how? The weather report says it would be like -10 tonight and +3 tomorrow, and I was looking forward to that, check the thermometer... -33.. WTF? And yesterday the fan motor went in the heater in my 36, so I have o rip that sucker apart and try to retrofit a new motor into the 75 year old housing... again...

I have 3 stray cats (that I am aware of) living on my porch right now, too cold to shoo them away, when wild animals start showing up to get out of the cold I think I'll move to the desert.

Ouch that sucks! I don't have to deal with frozen pipes down here but I do have to deal with retards breaking them frequently...

he was mad and driving to close behind me jus because i didnt slow down to let him be in front when two lanes became one. and the stupid move he was gonna do is try to pass me on the left with a car coming right at him. luckily he swerved back behind me. i slammed the brakes and did a left, he swerved around.

Just today I had a minivan cut me off - I had to hit the brakes to avoid making contact with his back bumper - and then at a four-way stop, I had to avoid another car.

I had been stopped for a while waiting for my turn, when another van/CUV pulls up to my right. It's my turn, so I start on my way. Just as I'm about to pass by the van to my right, the driver accelerates and we both hit the brakes to avoid crashing.

All the while she was looking at me too, she saw me coming.

Man I hate the impatience of other drivers, I'm only 27 but I like to think I have some good sense not to drive like a total douche for no reason like a lot of them seem to do...

I live in the country on a secondary highway, it's a double solid line (no passing zone) and I have to make a left hand turn into my driveway, it's a well marked flat area with lower speed limit signs and I am anal about using my signals and what not, and yet almost every time I try to turn into my own damn driveway some moron will try to pass me on the left, while I am already signaling and turning... almost had a few wrecks in the past, watched my dad get forced off the road there in his 78 Loadrunner (look it up and lol) and I got to watch in horror as my older brother was broadsided at high speed in his beloved 78 Cougar (great car, I bought it for $20 and gave it to him when his Rustang died) the guy was going so fast he launched into the ditch and took out my next door neighbours fence and then tried to take off, till he discovered his suspension was collapsed.

Now I have my video camera in hand ever time I turn in (sad I know) and I have a dash cam, just in case. Because in my brothers case the Police tried to claim that we were not allowed to turn into our driveway, but the other guy was allowed to pass on a double solid... that cop also had no clue about actual laws and road rules etc.

It's gotten to a point where I don't think its the city, I think its everywhere. I always say if by some miracle I decide to run for president or something, my act would be to toughen up the driving tests so idiots don't get on the road.

It's gotten to the point that people either forget the rules or think they are above them and why we, the ones following the rules, are pissed off and get hit.
