They're re-using the Holden Commodore for the GNX? That's a good and bad idea.

no no no. imo anything or any G8-like car is blah. jus not feeling them as Chevys or in this case, as a Buick. why not use a Caddy for this? at least that would be a bit more similar body-wise.

It is my understanding that the new Grand National/GNX will be off the new ATS/CTS platform, not the aging Zeta (Camaro or SS/Commodire) platform. Some sources have suggested that one or both models might also be available as AWD.

A turbo 4-cylinder making 272 HP, a 3.6L making 320 HP is expected to be optional. The GNX is expected to have either a 400 HP 3.6L or rumors of a twin turbo'd motor.

I remember hearing that as well now that you say it. Just that picture screams Commodore. Good that it isn't going on the Zeta platform as I don't really think that would be ideal for it.

Interested to see what they use for the powerplant, the LFX in the Camaro put out around 320 hp. That boosted might do well. Also seeing a price point of these will be interesting.

The GNX motor is rumored to be the LF3 twin turbo'd 3.6L that's going in the CTS-V and perhaps the ATS-V.

Are these pictures more to your liking Ringo? Remember I said the other picture was a concept - so it may well have been developed from the Commodore/Zeta platform..

Take away the stupid hood scoop and that is SEXXXXXXXXX.

I'd rock the fuck out of that. But with a 400HP boosted AWD six speed drivetrain? Are we sure this is still GM we're talking about here?

Please deliver one of those to my driveway, GM. I'll take 400hp in that body, my lord.

>ditch the AWD

May as well ditch the fun factor as well.

Nice GT-37 and, of course, the young lady in the short shorts. What I find most interesting is the Stutz sign. Stutz Motor Car Company of America resuurected the Stutz name from the 1920s and 1930s. They used Pontiac Grand Prix and Bonnevilles, as well as Olds Delta 88s as the underpinnings of their cars from 1970 to mid-to-late 1980s. Motown's Barry White had a Stutz IV-Porte that was recently found and restored on an episode of History Channel's Counting Cars TV show.

why was it named GT-37?

why was it named GT-37?

Pontiac had dropped the Tempest name and called it the T-37. So the performance oriented "GT" version of the T-37 was badged as the GT-37.

The GT-37 is actually the closest thing to what DeLorean wanted back in '67-68, under Project ET. Project ET was meant to be Pontiac's answer to the inexpensive Roadrunner. Project ET eventually created the Judge. ET was meant to be a stripped down barn burner. The only cost saving measure from Project ET that made its way to the Judge was the removal of trim rings. So a true Judge has no trim rings.

I love what was done to the front nostril grills. I know it is a "copy" of the Germans but I think it holds more weight on an american car anyways! :dancingpontiac: :dancingpontiac:

I agree wtih you Young Gun, Pretty simple mod too.

On Saturday, the combination paid big dividends for the owner of that particular 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda convertible, as the car sold for a record-setting hammer price of $3.5 million in Seattle.
