Car is done and everything is good to go on it. Still don't have it though because my Dad was impatient and dragged me to the bank before seeing the final bill. $200 short so now I can't get my car until tomorrow.

So aside from the repair, I will be doing some experimenting with my car. I plan on doing a Cavalier front end swap, from this car here:

It was a Z24, but all I am taking from it are the hood and bumper and anything else I might need to go with it. All I am missing are a set of fenders (won't take these because my buddy said he had rolled the fenders so he could tuck the wheels in, the car was on air-ride suspension). So the hood is set aside, and so is the bumper:

Also when I saw this it made me sad:

He also gave me a set of stock headlights which are in pretty awesome condition minus one of the stock corner lights, which is broken, but I intend on getting a aftermarket one piece projector set so I can have proper HID lighting finally. The box of lamps emptied:

So I will only probably use those as a back up in case the one piece set has a issue. From talking to fellow Sunfire / Cavalier owners the only decent set of one piece headlights are these:

Which I guess is ok. I would be going with the black seeing the chrome looks waaay too busy. Which is fine anyway seeing my theme for the car will have more black. I am going to try dipping the WHOLE car next spring (early if possible). The color you ask? Firebelly Orange. Which would look like this:

Although I am also looking into this Blaze Blue also:

Either way, it will cost $300 for the dip, sprayer and some other stuff for the kit. Can't really decide on the color though. I was also looking into wheels the other day and I like these a lot.

Feel free to tell me your thoughts. Especially on color. I'm starting to lean towards the blue lol

Sorry for the links. I tried adding ones and it kept saying I couldn't use those :/

Actualy it was a Sunfire with a Z24 front clip =P.

I like your plans. The blue is pretty neat. But both colors would be pretty cool. Blue would be slightly less loud than the orange. Would you still use black as an accenting color?

Yeah, much like the Audi in the photo with the whole black roof and such. It wouldn't feel too euro I would think seeing the 90's Sunfire GT's had black on their roof.

Yeah I am really thinking that blue. However the actual color will be a bit darker, I guess they guy added in some white when he painted it. But either way, I am liking that blue lol

Just when I thought I was finished with repairs...

So for as long as I can remember my car would make a slight clunk when turning left or right sharply, well now its louder and more frequent. I am up by valid and snowblindburd right now and we will be checking the out sway bar and end links later this morning. Also, a old issue of mine has also re-appeared. Every once in awhile under braking the car would pretty much make this noise:

After snowblindburd (Mark) did some research for me and after I asked around, it sounds like the wheel cylinder could be sticking. Don't really have the time or tools to investigate that at this time. Might have to have a shop look at it. I am hoping to at least get the clunk sound fixed, hopefully the end links are bad and not the sway bar itself.

I forgot, you have drums out back...

A shot in the dark, check the bolts holding the front hub bearing in (there's three of them on each side) I bring this up because a few months ago, a bolt holding in the right side hub assembly backed out, making that same exact noise.

Checking rear brakes can be easy, first...I'd have somebody drive it, follow on foot and listen for the sound under braking and keep an eye on the wheel for any signs of locking up or shifting under braking.

Well we did some research and apparently lots of Sunfire and Cavalier owners have the same issue. Apparently it could be a wheel cylinder? Never even heard of it. The noise has stopped again too. As for the clunking in the front when turning, we did some investigating on that and it might be the right strut mount. Mark said it seemed to have a bit more play. If it gets a little nicer out we will have to jack the car up and take a better look around in there.

Still check the hub bolts...

Strut mounts are a possibility, now that I think about it...some friends I know with J-bodies told me strut mounts (especially in the rear) like to go bad often.

So the noises have quit, aside from the possible the strut noise, its not as noisy now though. Anyway, so we had a "blizzard" but I don't think it was. I think we got maybe 6-7 inches. Lots of blowing snow though. Anyway, this was after it ended and I drove home:

Didn't have too much trouble navigating in the two days of nothing but snow and wind. Didn't get stuck anyway.

So she cleans up nicely hah! Kind of a old picture, a week or so. Not much has changed. Getting rid of the silly red dome and trunk LEDs. Ordered some white ones. Other than that, not much has changed lol
