I don't believe I have. I'll look into them.

But if you like Annihilator, check out Zimmers Hole. It's a side project of Devin Townsend, singer of Strapping Young Lad. Hell, check them both out. They're heavy as fuck.

I forget exactly where they hail from.

But this album is my favorite by them. From beginning to end it's excellent!

They is he and he is Jeff Waters and he is from Canada. Annihilator only has one permanent member (like Nine Inch Nails, if you will). Jeff does vocals, guitar, and bass.

And just to give you an example of how awesome Jeff Waters is, here's a clip from the Making of Roadrunner United DVD.

You can also catch Andols Herrick from Chimaira there, with his metal drumming feet, and good ol' Robbie Flynn from Machine Head. :P

And be sure to note the epic faces Jeff makes as he plays.

And for the lulz... Him messing up the solo 7359479 times...

I've been diving back into doom metal lately...

Going back and forth from the likes of Black Label Society, Down, and Crowbar to Funeral, Draconian, Candlemass and Agalloch.

Mmmmmmmmm...

i've been hitting up Gothic metal myself.

Sirenia - The Other Side

Very nice!

Brendan, if you like Lacuna Coil, check out their album "Unleashed Memories".

Why did I not see this thread before????

Here's what's playing right now on my comp

I'm hoping one of these days they actually tour NA... or at least a big festival. With reasonable notice California isn't out of the question for a concert road trip (again)!!!

I never got into Mayhem. The most I've dived into that realm is Old Man's Child and Dragonlord.

Nobody's ever given me a good recommendation, but then again, I'm a whore for power and prog. :lol2:

I was really disappointed with Lacuna Coil's album, "Shallow Life". The first song off the record, "Survive" seemed so promising, but it just went terribly downhill from the opening song. So happy I borrowed a copy, and didn't buy it. After Karmacode, I was expecting at least a decent turnaround...but they've lost touch with their original sound, and now they're an Evaneseance rip off...which is truely ironic, because Evanesesance was a rip off of Lacuna Coil when they debuted, now they sound exactly the same, and full of fail.

How about Dream theatre's last album or James Labrie's latest solo project?

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVRo2zIENuE

Dream Theater's Black Clouds and Silver Linings was stellar from beginning to end. A bit more dark than previous albums, but song writing, the complexity of the music and lyrics was top notch. I loved it, a lot better than Systematic Chaos. Don't get me wrong, the last album was good in it's own right, but DT was trying a bit too hard for that album.

As for James' solo material, never knew he did stuff. I like what I hear, definitely gonna check it out when the entire record debuts.

I need a song that says I can't stand liars and you should all go to f$%^ing hell!

Not directed at liars, but this song will certainly fit your pissed off mood.
