@ Tunic: While I still find Phil to be a complete Jackoff, he wrote and did better music with Down, rather than Pantera or Superjoint Ritual.

Post-2000 Down is nothing but what Pantera would be today had they continued to remain a band. Slightly evolved sound, same instrumentation for the most part. And don't forget Rex Brown is in Down as well :pop_corn:

Disturbed falls under hard rock, most people think they're metal.

I actually liked the albums Indestructable and Ten Thousand Fists.

I was wondering about that, as I have a few song on ITunes and it's a toss up between rock, metal, and other... I do agree with you, I have both of those CDs, they are great.

lul

That's actually the last good album they made. Four songs on there are pretty damn good. Soliders of the Wasteland being the best on song off that record.

Solitude Arturnus is a doom metal band from Texas, think Black Sabbath meets Alice In Chains.

Sonata Arctica's new album is excellent, as well as their production value in their videos.

Have you heard his version of Wind Beneath my Wings, it was quite awesome.

knights of the abyss and avenged sevenfold and five finger death punch are some of the best metal bands

The fact that you even listed Avenged Sevenfold as anything close to good metal, and not the sellout garbage they are, totally devalues your opinion.

None of which are metal.

In fact, they bring shame to anything considered metal.

That's old school Sonata Arctica. Their new sound is very symphonic, with very complex lyric styles.

Story-like if you will. Also, I'll bring the last vid I posted here for you to see. I love this song. Has a folk-flair to the song.

Want heavy? I'll give you heavy! Some straight up thrash metal sounds like your style.

ANNIHILATOR!

This kind of reminds me of ... george thorogood on distortion

are these guys southern as well?

I forget exactly where they hail from.

But this album is my favorite by them. From beginning to end it's excellent!
