The official FP weather thread from around the planet

As B52's thread has gone hijacked with weather. Starting a weather from around the planet thread.

B52 hope your family here in the mitten has made it through the last couple days without loosing power with your new baby. Worried about my grands as well and have been lucky so far. Winds are crazy and snow has been light. Went in search of a new generator yesterday and the shelves are bare everywhere. Before I got home, power was out again. Fired mine again and checked output. 110 and 240. Have no idea why it started working correctly. Been years since it was used, musta needed to vibrated the connections. Glad I didn't have to spend $600 on the model I wanted to at the store. So power came back on at 11pm, justa before the wind started and BONUS ... the fridge is working perfectly. Now that everything has been emptied. NOT complaining, happy to cancel the service call.

I only live about 30 miles north of Justa. So whatever weather he gets, I usually get too. That said, today's storm (40-60 MPH wind gusts with sustained winds around 30), rain turning to snow. 1-3 inches of snow is expected today. Ugh. I looked at my snowblower yesterday. I have a flat tire. Greeeeaaat! So this morning, I snuck out of work for an hour, drove in the nasty weather, and ran to my local Discount Tire store to get it fixed.

The young counter chimp (or chump) said he couldn't touch it since the tire was older than 2015. Their policy is to not touch anything older than 10 years old (I assume this is for liability or insurance indemnity reasons). I said, "this is a snowblower tire not a car with 150k miles on it. Who cares?" "Sorry sir that's our policy."

Another guy came out at that moment, took one look at it and said, just air it up. The chimp said "we're not allowed to touch it, story policy." The new guy simply ignored him and took it in the back, put on tire adhesive on both sides of the rim (the tire had separate off the rim - that's why it was flat) and aired it up. He handed it back to me in less than five minutes. I asked how much. He said no charge. Great answer!

I spent more time driving to and from the tire store than I was there. I can't complain about that or the price, justa the nasty weather. I suspect I will be snowplowing after work today.

Never thought I'd be excited to see 35 degrees. But here I am, feeling like a 13yr old boy that justa discovered the lingerie section in the sears and roebuck catalog. In case I haven't mentioned it, I HATE THE COLD!

What? I thought everyone but me wants a white Christmas and a cold, icy, and miserable New Years!?!?!

That way staying in you pajamas, nursing your new years hangover, watching bowl games all day, eating pizza, Chinese, or potato chips becomes soooo special!

It rained yesterday arvo and most of the night. Our new 22000 litre water tank (that was empty) is now FULL! That's 22 tons of water off one section of roof that was once held in suspension in the air as vapour. Hard to believe. The sun is now out and it's gonna be 35°C and close to 100% humidity.

Beer fridge is full.

That sucks. I get that your car has heat, but you still have to walk out in the cold.

YEEESSSSS!!!!!

awwww god!!! i am wayy past my fosters beers !!!!

As teenagers we found a bottle store that would sell to underages... we grabbed fosters ... back then you could get a 750ml tinnys ...

what a mess we use to make of our selves !!!

me, my little brothers and sister , had a sesson on the fosters and where at home alone !! we were suposed to mow the lawn .... while our parents where out ...

Our lawns back then at the homestead usually took 3 of us kids 3 hours to mow, we had 2 push mowers and one reel mower, about an acre of lawn. including a grass tennis court .

we opted for the fosters and hang on the swings ... what a day ... !!!

we tried to mow the lawns but it was a major fail !!!

i will never forget how much fun the 4 of us had .

very very rear !!!!woot

So what are you saying Kiwi?

Fosters good or Fosters bad?

Regardless its beer o’clock! cheers

That’s sorta my feelings for justa about anything from Anheuser-Busch.

Fosters was once our iconic beer...about 40 years ago. NOBODY would touch it now but it's reputation endures globally as being our beer. In fact I can't remember seeing it in any bottle shop, like forever.

I drink imported German beer mainly because I'm a wanker but also because it's delicious.

The weather on the news all doom N gloom. They lied again. Only made it to -9 w/windchill -25 yesterday. Today it's only -19 and no wind yet. Beautiful bright day so far. Will be out pushing snow before too long. For now will watch the show from the front window.
