For a while I've been wanting to wrap the hood in vinyl and then go crazy with Sharpies....

Today I received a message from my friend that my hood pins had arrived. I picked them up right away, but can't do anything else with them now until I track down a new hood.

Everything in the box; the pins, studs, assorted hardware, and keys - I opted to go with the locking version for extra security.

I went with these over 'traditional' hood pins because of their more subtle and modern design, which keeps the mechanism below the surface. If you haven't seen these before, to release them you push down where the lock is located, and the arm pops up. Pull it all the way up, and the pin releases.

And, one nice coincidence is that the studs are red, which stays in line with the car's white/black/red colour scheme.

Now, the next obvious step is to get my hands on a new hood to start cutting up. If you're wondering why on earth I'm sticking hood pins on the GP,...

Because race car.

Oooooooooooh purty pictars :PICS:

ummmm yeah don't do the douche-hood w/ the sharpie vinyl :D Rather the hood pins than that lol

You have to admit, coloring on a hood with sharpie would be fun, for awhile anyway. If I had a beater, I would do it. It's an entertaining idea! Maybe it's just the artist-hippie in me coming out. :D

Those hood pins are pretty slick! I look forward to seeing them in action.

"Because race car" is the solution to any problem or question.

Today my father and I went out to check on both the GP and my mother's Thunderbird, and to start them up and drive them around for a few. Go figure, the winter I finally store the GP turns out to be extremely mild...so far anyway.

I also have news regarding all of the parts I had lined up to buy - none have been bought yet. Neither seller has replied to me. One reason I love the Focus, is that I can actually order parts and have them show up. :(

IknowIknowIknow. :D

The darn ol' Pontiac is making me work for everything though. Even getting it home was a multi-hour job. Nothing comes easy. :lol2:

Most likely eventually. I do plan to keep Judge forever, so ultimately I think everything will be addressed. :lol2:

It is probably due for an exhaust though, even if just to replace the old pieces that have been sitting under the car for 20 years.

Paint them snowflake rims white please with a red ring. ;)

:EDIT: quick crude chop but it still works. ;)
