  1. ah its ok... it tells me that there IS one out there... if i knew of a stock installation i could justA buy one off rockauto . i am guessing that if it was it would be mid 60's gm cars that still had drum/drum set ups but boosted. if i stick a disc/drum master on there i have to dick around with a bias valve to reduce the rear brake pressure i will let you guys know what ames say. right now its 6pm and beer o'clock ! had a full on day digging drains! cheers
  2. guys i have emailed ames and asked the question .... wrong way do you know the company that sold you the master cylinder/ booster, they may sell justA the master cylinder 🙄
  3. ah it was on my phone mate ! i had been talking with oldguy44 ( Dwight, about mounts) i have the cover over the 64 too! its bloody cold here today !!!
  4. smash up your transistor radio mate and pull the potentiometer out of it and try that
  5. ah, on ames it seams that all the listings are for disc/drum combo ! anyone know of a dual circuit master cylinder for drum/ drum ????
  6. thanks Andy, i was this very moment trying to find a dual circuit drum/drum master cylinder and was going to do a post to ask if anyone knew what ponti had one stock !
  7. yes Andy Wrongways bracket is the same as mine
  8. Yes sounds like fun !! Remember we like pictures around here ! Trick with those tracks that you have to follow the pace car.... be the last car in the group then you can back of and give yourself some space to floor it !
  9. wow that is interesting about using a capacitor !! the potentiometer makes sense as it is justA variable resistor, i would certainly get one mate as it can do what attempting to with ten resistors does. bet you will find at Jaycar you have to buy packs of 10 resistors like i did ! ps. i didnt say but i am a registered sparky too, ! i have to be to play with all the electronics in modern gas appliances these days ! i find electronics fascinating
  10. somewhere there is bound to be an equation on what resistance to get a 12 volt power supplly down to 9 volts, if !! and thats a big if thats whats required for the tac remember too that your tac hooks to the switching side of the coil not the power supply side and it is measuring pulses
  11. hmmmm,,, uf is capacitor values ! microfarads resistors are rated in watts 🙄 dont buy a capacitor for your tach Fitzy ! may be start with a 0.01 watt resistor
  12. Nothing is easy aye Frosty!!... your doing a good job and at the end of it all you know you can turn your car safely around corners AND isn't it fun being able to work in your new "shop" "FROSTY'S GARAGE MAX FUN" i can see lots of stuff that needs to be put on the wall and clear that work space !!
  13. you can get resistors from jaycar mate .... but what value??? thats the question . i think you need a real gauge guy to sort it. that frosty tac is most likely set for like 9 volts or so ? maybe for a ballast resistor ??? and thats a guess may be if frosty can tell you what year its from , grab a wiring diagram and it will give you a clue mean-while keep driving those miners to that pit. china needs your orrrrrrrr
  14. i feel i have made a major stuff up ! last weekend i took my little mk1 cortina for its first certification inspection and 1 item that was noted was i had used an after market single outlet master cylinder for the brakes, this is not allowed in nz. i can use a factory master cylinder and it will comply... which is cool if your using the original chitty chitty bang bang four pot kent engine with 70 hp MY cortina has a duratec engine with itbs and dynoed to have 162 bhp @ the rear wheels in a car that weighs justA 750kg ( thats the weight of a T bucket with a v8 engine in petrolhead world) ITs wayy fun to drive !!! i have been doing the "Fitzy".... ( we now have a name for building cars in the middle of the night!!! )))) 3 am building and fixing and my plan was to stick a oem master cylinder on the cortina ! DUMB move ! why you ask because i have the same single circuit system on the Bonneville.... i have stuffed up ! For the last 2 and a half years all the people who have read my thread have seen my thyme is not only to restore the 64 but to improve it !!! Make it more 21st century savvy! i have failed !! and it was starring me in the face !😔 i need to replace the standard single circuit master cylinder. and thats where you guys come in ! what master cylinder will bolt to the 9 inch gm booster that is dual circuit ? AND work correctly for a drum drum set up ? does your 65 have this Fitzy? none the less, i am pulling the master cylinder and re making the brake lines to suit a dual master cylinder. i am still kicking myself that i didn't do it when i had the body off the frame ! major FAIL
  15. that picture you posted is your loom to the switch and it should be a 3 wire plug pull the plug off that old one and have a look at the plug, does it have 3 pin sockets?
  16. looks to me to be the top half of your oil pressure switch , here is a picture of a whole unit. the clue was the orange plastic justA above there its crimped to the steel nut. you will need to find where the rest of the switch is screwed into the block and remove it and buy a new one not having ever owned a trans am my guess is to look near where your oil filter is screwed in
  17. People who drive corollas have no life mate!!! If in doubt email the pertronics guys and ask the question . I don’t think there is an auto sparky here on fp ! But my guess is use your feed from the key to switch a relay and feed it 12 good volts That way you can spend that special time at 3 am wondering what’s for tea tomorrow night
  18. dwight its this when you got tthe 63 and it had the 389 ?
  19. And thats why we love picture around here!!!!
  20. Yip and mines the same I pulled the pcb valve and I am going to get a new one from rock auto justA for the hell if it https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6310119&cc=1350425&pt=5052&jsn=845&jsn=845
  21. whats Oriellys JustA??? is that like our hire pool ? https://www.hirepool.co.nz/
