  1. Along with the new master cylinder was my new pcv valve, easy install too, but i may just check my idle mixer setting after i have installed the new valve.... it may change things , not sure
  2. Just arrived is the 69 Belair master cylinder,πŸ‘ Fitzy the part number on rock auto is ce 130.62016 and I tried it on the spare booster I have and it’s a perfect fit .... remember , my 64 is drum/ drum , so this is the correct one for my factory set up but wayyyyyy safer with its dual circuits Its about now that i love gm using generic parts!!! So anyone reading this, and if you have a 61-68 with the single outlet master cylinder for your brakes, here is your best buy !! a factory configuration, dual circuit brake master cylinder. ( i am guessing that Pontiac used the single outlet master cylinder all the way up to 68 on the wide body cars) This one part could be the difference between life and death if your single outlet master cylinder had a fail in any one of the four brake corners of your Pontiac . i will, when i get time post the swap over from the old master cylinder too this dual port unit... It will be easy as its justA plumbing
  3. More progress, trusses in place, cut into the existing house .... Wifes super happy when all the rat poo fell out of the ceiling for years before we owned the place there was a lemon tree growing next to the house, the rats would climb up it, into the gutters and into the roof space!! Barge boards up next, and should be ready for the roofer who is booked for mid week next week, hopefully we dont get too much rain !!
  4. Mate !!!! Well done, considering what you have been through, you a bloody legend
  5. they are not even talking second booster here yet ! slack as i think!!
  6. yip that solenoid is toast mate !! Not sure about if a 20 inch muffler will fit under your car mate, i went with flowmaster 50 ( i wanted 44 but could not get them! thanks covid) and i think they are about 14 inches long.... (same thing, its dark/cold out side and i am having a beer so i cant take pictures) But even with the flowmaster 50 she is super quiet, if you use a bigger muffler your gona need a hearing aid to hear the v8 rumble !!! Remember if you do a h pipe or x pipe it will quieten down the pulses too !! i went x pipe. as a plumber i like flow!!😜
  7. Yeah stick the bird on it πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ why not 🍻🍻🍻🍻 Frosty , how long has it been between your first booster and this one ?
  8. more progress today the scaffolders turned up, with justA enough scaffold to get the trusses up, sound like they are under the pressure with being able to supply scaffold to all the building site. !! i need this scaffold or my roofers wont get on the roof full stop !! health and safety requirements !! back when i was installing roofs we didnt have any of this bs !! you used common sense and did not fall off roofs!... not now !!πŸ™„
  9. hi Gaetan ! i recall your fuse board was looking rusty, check that where the fuse is clipped in is clean. used a multi-tester to check you have 12volts on both sides of that fuse mate... if you do... you then need to check that you have power at the switches... if you dont your looking for a broken/damaged wire between the fuse panel and the switch clusterπŸ‘ good luck ! trust its getting a little warmer where you are !! down under in nz its getting more and more winter like! we get nice sunny days and as soon as that sun goes down so does the temp !!!πŸ₯Ά
  10. so i have bought a master cylinder thats for a 1969 belair drum /drum car. i will put it on the shelf till after i get the car legal πŸ‘
  11. yes mate your dead right, and to be safe i wont change it till it gets through vinning! OR i bet they will make me get a certification for the brake upgrade!!! if i swap out the master cylinder after the car is all road legal, each time it has to go get a warrant of fitness they would never know what master cylinder a 1964 Bonneville had ! i was going to get one Too Del but they dont ship to Nz ! πŸ™„ So i have found a 1969 chevelle has a drum/drum master cylinder and i can get one off rockauto !
  12. thanks for the link Wrongway ! here it is Dell, i think this will work nicely πŸ‘ https://www.ebay.com/itm/202258266097?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2f178837f1:g:2BIAAOxyY3ZRkTND&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAABAJdyj07zHlmWZK2sISK9vNZuQ%2FHGT3qGmISXl3AWWz6LX5TZaHh6M%2F7Itek1Q%2BazzlQVib9vk4FKL55s5SJt96iqCa%2Ba7v4bul2tNGOOCKpAXcfyXrnxycFo7uto7nwNFe8CUxVHkNeIcg7JwSv3lWLZCUSXLMpxYIEAdJf9UCjlrHoDNR7q0ZCAE5JK3sEYeKxqbzdVF%2Fg04k33eaKFtG8CWCulsw0Gro9Dt4zHzlKvgpnBwmbg0kDLyagadpW9wXoGaHdmP2sbSdVLMF5DVegqwPz3vbQMu9uVedhd%2FcF%2FDOw72wuZyO8TwuqVOVP5DsnXfQuEK3%2Bhv%2FbxBdzBxBw%3D|tkp%3ABFBMyMmH641g
  13. andy ! its a gm solenoid!! that top connection , loosen it off push the bolt in and turn it 180 degrees and pull it out and tighten the nut ! if that doesn't work pull the black cap and clean both the top and bottom contacts the winding's are not getting full power through the solenoid.
  14. ah its ok... it tells me that there IS one out there... if i knew of a stock installation i could justA buy one off rockauto . i am guessing that if it was it would be mid 60's gm cars that still had drum/drum set ups but boosted. if i stick a disc/drum master on there i have to dick around with a bias valve to reduce the rear brake pressure i will let you guys know what ames say. right now its 6pm and beer o'clock ! had a full on day digging drains! cheers
  15. guys i have emailed ames and asked the question .... wrong way do you know the company that sold you the master cylinder/ booster, they may sell justA the master cylinder πŸ™„
  16. ah it was on my phone mate ! i had been talking with oldguy44 ( Dwight, about mounts) i have the cover over the 64 too! its bloody cold here today !!!
  17. smash up your transistor radio mate and pull the potentiometer out of it and try that
