  1. Progress on the additions ! frames up and trusses are next but waiting on scaffolding To go up first I have a mate who I bought a trailer off to sit the spare 64 Pontiac body on and he is doing my scaffolding for a suitable beer price 🍻🍻🍻🍻
  2. we went to the beach for the long weekend, and i rested as i am still getting over a bad bought of flu ! feeling better now and have got into the build, frames are up. then work has got in the road again !! 😡
  3. Dwight I will pm you I think I could use your engine !
  4. That black and red 57. what gets me JustA is that bottom trailing arm on the diff, below the scrub line !! why did they do that ???? its going to, not only hook on every judder bar but you can see it too !!! in kiwi land we call that a f-ck up
  5. Dwight, i know it was a post from last year, but did you get rid of the 389 ?
  6. omg! you would never get away with that today!
  7. I am not so sure about all this climate change stuff ! what i DO know is we live on a planet that is constantly changing and moving, and that's justA fact. Here at the beach there is a pole buried in the sand dune since 2008 . it was originally buried up to where the red meets the blue strips. its indicating that the dunes have eroded by the best part of 1 m in 14 odd years. that to me is a living planet doing its natural thing.
  8. Yes mate ! I really think it’s a great idea ! Think about all those engines we look at in cars and instantly determine how grunty they are !! JustA by looking at them !!! This would be the old wolf in sheep’s clothes trick Frosty, I do like that this engine builds all its torque down low in the rpms !! That to me is way more usable and fun 👍👍👍
  9. Go for it mate, if you think you can make a coin or two 👍
  10. My concern would be falling off !! With those blades below you , there wouldnt be much left
  11. all you need now Frosty is a clear floor hoist!!!
  12. Two lane, what about these? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=3959319&cc=1252055&pt=1896&jsn=928 or these kits https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6104400&cc=1252055&pt=13824&jsn=954
  13. Its justA big ride-on drone !!! be great for fishing !!! hahahha
  14. Look at changing your brake hoses to Teflon too Two lane, !! you will feel the difference !
  15. We wont break down! my girl is better than she was factory now!!! and i will certainly taking my ozzy mate for a drive, but we will be taking the bosses too! i will be taking fitzy and his boss to our favorite pub for a meal. its lake front in Taupo. magical spot ! We will be able to park in my special tradesmens reserved car park, that they keep justA for me !!
  16. yes good move setting Black Beauty up for street, its a whole different world setting up a car for track use!! i remember taking my 2007 gto monaro on a track day after i had tricked the engine up and had it dynoed at 463hp@ the wheels, 781 ft lbs torgue 2 laps in and i had no brakes left at all !!! i had spent all this money ( 14k ) on my engine and nothing on brakes or hoses and the brakes got so hot the hoses where expanding and major brake fade ! Super scary at the end of the front straight after going near 180 km and all i could see was the sand trap looking at me saying welcome come on in !!! i did make it around the corner by manually down shifting the trans but that was my day done there and then. i had my mate who owns a sign shop make me a 342 badge, and thats what she is in kilowatts
  17. Mine goes straight away, which i know has to do with that cold oil by-pass spring, its like a reed valve and it by passes the oil until its hot enough. but having said that i read in the 1963 shop manual that they note that it is a common issue. the valve needs replacing.
  18. so a update here, my transmission guy arrived back with the valve body and reinstalled it and everything working and shifting like it should. so clearly the issue was in the valve body, yet the guy said he had added a ball bearing that helps with the 2-3 shift. i am not sure that was all that was the issue but, he was true to his word and fixed it free of charge . this i really appreciated considering how much i paid for him to rebuild it. AND it was a Sunday along with it being his 77th Birthday !! Bill really enjoyed our"test" drive as the 64 ran super smooth on the road and is very quiet! The sun was out and justA nice day to be cruising
  19. oh and to note !!! my rear main seal has stopped leaking thanks to a bottle of stop leak!
  20. cheers Del, i did pull my one apart and its nice and clean, and i did get it to worker correctly by moving its mounting screws 👍 your 65 may be different Mate, on the 64 the indicator stalk, operates a shaft down the column to a slide switch operated by a wire loop, and this switch is mounted on top of the outer column sleeve above the gear shift inhibitor switch i am justA so happy that the transmission is working correctly and i can move on!!
  21. yes mate, the whole switch mounted on the colum can be moved to set the centre so to speak yeah, its a bit odd what he said, all i know is he took the valve body away for the week and when it came back the trans shifts correctly !!! yes mate i will wait, it was justA one of those little things i had left over i wanted to see what was wrong with it.... and i had a slow day today, not feeling flash again. so i was really just potting around.
