  1. So I bought a brand new hellcat . It was shipped to nz . They adjusted the head lights for left side of the road . And they are perfect ! my 1995 Ram . Came off a ship from California and I adjusted the head lights and they too complied . Not sure why they had you change yours . I haven’t changed the 64 either . And they are fine . Very odd
  2. Ozy = fitzy critters …. Snakes crocs . Spiders the size of crocs !!!!!! roos the size of crocs all things you do do not want to hit with your Pontiac !!!! Fitzy…. Sorry to tell you but there is no such thing as a left hand drive head light . They beam up and down in our old cars . Never left or right when I complied my dodge Ram that came from ca all I had to do was adjust them left was all .
  3. Noddy should have a Pontiac only section … maybe down by the boat club .. so we can sit and have cheap beers while the ppl check out the real cars !
  4. Next beach hop Lindsey … we did last years November one . Skipped March as we did Wanganui clubs run . In our caddy all going to plan we will do beach hop 2024 in our 64 bonniville And Pete is going to drag his boss over from oz again aye !!!
  5. Haha sorry mate . My spelling is correct ! And they were dairy farmers and they owned race horses ! And you laugh at the bosses maiden name ! What about mine !!! Hshahaha oh by the way … I won’t tell my Karyn what you said . She will come over there and poke your eyes out ! Hahaha
  6. That’s exactly how I would do it mate And look ! It came out perfect 👍 Acetone is a plumbers best mate it melts everything
  7. we have a connection with Morrinsville as my boss was from there, she was a swney, we only just lost both her parents in the last year. Dairy farmers from there, that retaired to the town.
  8. Lindsey, let me know if you want a spare motor ! i am going to pull the stock one out of my 57 soon.. as i am going with a l98 and 6L80e
  9. Welcome Lindsay Great to see another kiwi on the fp site !!! where in godsone are you ? i havent seen your 56 around i really dont have any good info on your motor, hopefully one of our state side friends will be able to help, The last pontiac motor i know about being rebuilt was my good mates 68 bonni 400 ... he forked out 5 k in machining and another 5 k in parts justA to build a stock motor ! And really if your going down the path of a cam/lifters, you really should do valve springs, and probly a good 3 angle valve job with a clean up of the ports and runners. So what you really need is to make freinds with a machinest who can come up with a good recipe. Ah I justa Clicked Morrinsonville ! i have seen your 56 !
  10. bit more info needed Derslkayer1... proportioning valves are needed when you convert your brake system to disc front drum rear, in that case you certainly loose the block under the master cylinder and you will have 3 ports to pipe you brakes too on the new master/proportioning valve. but please note! it needs to be the correct one to suit your master cylinder bore and slave cylinder sizes
  11. Kenith !! i completly agree !!!! the same is happening here in NZ. there is this stupid push towards electric and at all costs !!!, our hobby is certainly going to die a very long slow death, and all the rodders and drag racers are getting older and older, the only young ones are those whos parents are rodders and drag racers !
  12. Pete, you dont have to say, but what is your 64 worth ? i had to guess at a price when i purchased the 63 as there is none in nz to compare price with !! i paid 10k nzd for this it has had a chev 12 bolt replace the pontiac diff and had disc brakes added. so its all chev stud pattern
  13. Yeah the 63 is a USA model . It was shipped new to American Samoa as a government car then shipped to nz for repairs and never went back ! Am I right in saying all the glass and trim above the belt line is the same as Chevy ? One thing I note is my 63 has the same roof rack as your 64 .. except mine has rust in the oval horizontal bars … they must be only chromed steel
  14. Well done Pete ! i had herd that not long after i had my 57 shipped to nz that prices for shipping went through the roof and the company i had used, justA shut their doors !! would have been cool to see your 64 cruising the roads of nz !!!... JustA means my new project (63 safari ) wont have any freinds to park with ☹️hahahaha would you mind posting some more pictures? it would be interesting on the differances
  15. Guess the main thing is a good earth to the body AND. A good earth to the front clip for the likes of the head lights and horn I see no advantage on earthing the chassis as it’s on rubber bushing to the body
  16. On my 64 Andy, there was a small earth strap from the passenger side of the motor onto the fire wall. And one from the block onto the driverside inner fender
  17. May not be ozzy compliant mate … wheres fitzy when ya need him
  18. good on ya Neal !! its us tradies that keep the world going look much better now !!!
  19. oh i have seen this !!!! before.... after !!!!! This is one of my jobs today, replacing it !☹️
  20. Carjam ! Cool thank you … yeah my guess would have. Been in the less than 10 in nz department !
