  1. I was just going to ask that. The Bandit Run is on the bucket list. I have to get the ol' girl running a little more reliably first. Let us know the dates and cities.
  2. You are right Pro, all three would look good thoroughly crushed or obliterated. It would be hard to get the smile off my face after that too !!!!
  3. I wonder if GE has forgotten the password to his PC again?
  4. Welcome to FP Section25. You have the start of a great project my friend, take your time I will try to answer your questions a few at time. Let's start with the basics, you have a '63 Pariseinne, which means this car was probably built in Canada and then converted to right hand drive once it got to Australia. So that most like means that you have a Chevy drivetrain, suspension, chassis one a Pontiac body. I didn't see any pictures of the engine compartment, but that would be consistent with Canadian built Pontiacs of the day. So you will want to get a radiator, ignition/distributor parts, power steering pump, transmission kickdown cable, brackets, etc., that are consistent with a '63 Chevy Impala (in the US) with a small block Chevy V8 (not the 348/409). Rubber vacuum lines are used to distribute some of the vacuum created by the pistons on the intake stroke. It is used to advanced the distributor based on engine speed, power assist for power front disc brakes (connects to the brake boaster), connects to the PCV valve (if your car as one). There are modern electronic shift kits that allow you to shift the transmission electronically. You can find it in most hot rod catalogs. You need some sort of fan to work with your radiator. It can be electrically driven like most modern cars are today, off a water temperature sensor and some power leads, or the regular stock water pump attached fan will work. You need some sort of fan to cool the water, especially when the car is idling or running at high speed for a long period of time. How is that for starters? Pictures of your engine bay will help a lot too.
  5. So does my wife. That makes it a trifecta. What's your point? Hi honey, you remember my evil friend, Frosty, from Miichigan? You and the kids met him once at Woodward? Well he told me about this great tow truck opportunity. It has no motor or transmission but it's here in Canada and only costs $2000.00. Wanda say sweetheart we get another vehicle that we can use for lawn art! I know Ringo!
  6. Have you found a kit or are you looking for one? Also, are you willing to drill holes in the firewall to mount a more modern brake boaster / master cylinder?
  7. ....and this would sit where in your driveway? I want to know how you are going to explain this purchase to the wife?
  8. True. Do you think he is trying to loose weight in order to be an extra in Gnomeo and Juliet 2?
  9. A presentable fix is rather easy. You will need to get some fine grit sandpaper and sand down the chips to give the paint some mechanical adhesion (a.k.a. tooth). You will need to extend some of the fine grit sanding into the surrounding paint to feather in the new paint, but you don't have to go to far. The slight rust spot is a different matter altogther since moisture has already gotten thru the paint and primer and has caused the metal to start rusting. You will need to sand that to bare metal and then apply a metal etch primer to seal it. Then apply a couple more coats of primer to built up that spot. Sand with 180, 300, 600 grit to smooth it out. Once everything is primed and fine sanded, you are ready for paint. Mask off the areas you don't want new paint on. I would use a color match from Duplicolor of your car's color. I would apply three coats and let dry and then apply a couple of coats of Duplicolor clear coat. After several days of drying,I would use 1000/1500/2000 grit to knock down the edges of the new paint, and the use to polishing compound to clean up. I figure one can of color and a can of clear should do it. If this peeling spreads much more, then I think you have a much bigger issue on your hands that may require a complete repaint of the car, which I figure you don't have the cash for. However, massive peeling is often a sign that the primer and paint do not chemically agree with each other (long term). In that case, the car must be sanded down to bear metal and completely re-primed and painted. GM had a huge problem with this in the late 90s on cars and trucks.
  10. The PRNDL indicator on the dash is moved by a small elastic cord that connects to a metal clip. The metal clip then clips to the rotating collar of the column. So it is possible for the car to be in Drive mechanically even though the PRNDL says park.
  11. I am so glad we are able to help Pro with his New Years weight loss resolution! Sharing is caring!
  12. Interesting....with the exception of GMC, this show is open to all the recent GM orphan brands. Way to go !!!
  13. Wow! Somebody has the gonads to ask $6500 for a 30-year old wagon like this too. Besides, don't you have an Oldsmobubble wagon already?
  14. Could be worse Pro....you could be married to him!!!! I suppose you've just tossed your cookies thinking about that one?
  15. American Swallow - cause GE is always into the stumpwater. How do you think he hurt himself in the first place and didn't complain about the pain? Don't worry though, he can still get the cork off of the bottle using the other hand and his tooth. GE - if we didn't hassle you, you wouldn't think we like ya'!
  16. You are just looking for any excuse to put out.
  17. Killer, how do you like the Avalanche? I miss mine. Think this will hold up better on Michigan roads than the GP?
  18. Nice job Rick, I think you will love how it looks! I am pleased Santa was so good to you! Fred, it is common to have to trim carpet to fit. It is typically sold slightly oversized.
  19. I am officially jealous. What a great find. Ditto on the plans question.
  20. Justa, are you knocking the recording genius that gave us Holly Jolly Christmas, Goober Peas, Polly Wolly Doodle, and Waltzing Matilda? You have no appreciation for the classics, my man! Or should I blame GE since this his dang thread anyway?
  21. I could get use to warm weather winters, but it would ruin my image, and my svelte figure!
