Had a good run of smoke free, 70 degree weather. Had to travel 2hr to pickup a used John Deere tractor to tear the steering out and shoehorn it in mine. But got er done and back on the lawn. Cleared out all the projects and tools tossed in the garage, got the Sunbird fired. Found a broken ground to the light trigger in my Mallory dist. pulled it out and a quick rinse from door windows down. Never get water in the doors. Dried the ol girl and ready for a polish job. Finally installed the new blower belt...it was only 42yrs old, Also installed my new armrest. So you haven't been able to buy these for many years and the plastic doorhandle/ pull has been broken forever Pontiac..he he he . So it looks like on a corvette site, the armrest look identical to mine. Called the dealer and after a lil research....GM used em in the Vette. Same part # going back in time and still used today. A great gift. Thankz. Only prob is the new ones are red and the interior is Dark red. Oh well only choice. Had thought I sold my Gran National V6 I've had on a stand for 15 years. Guy was coming from Chicago and wrecked his truck/trailer in a storm. Been in the front of garage since April. moved it to the back of the garage again, so I could clear out the GTO. Fired it up and it's ready to go when my trans guy calls. Then a new buyer for the V6 on market place goes back N forth with me for a full day and finally agrees to my price. I again moved everything and pulled the 6 back up front and he never shows this weekend. Trans guy might call anytime now. Would be sweet to have the GTO back for Woodward and switch up for crusin duty's. Who needs a 84 Gran National motor complete with entire engine compartment wiring harness, right down to the battery cables, A/C and the computer. Tired of moving it....

You might want to check out a SEM interior dye color card. You might be able to find a closer match that way. I did that to the Roadmonster when I bought some new (e.g. used) interior pieces that were out of a blue interior Roadmaster Limited many years ago.. In fact, I may do that to the Rpadmmonster's steering wheel since the outer rim of the wheel is black from use, dirt, and sweat since 1994.

Got a call this afternoon from the Trans guru. Have to have the GTO at his place late afternoon 5 ish. Moved everything around yet again and pulled the Bird out only to have it start raining on my fresh polish job. Got it back inside and dried off while waiting for the rain to stop and then switched spots in the garage with the Sunbird and GTO. Will have to get it on the T trailer tomorrow and make all adjustments for the GTO as I've never used it since the rebuilding the trailer after buying last year. Hope the wheel netting/hold downs work as they are all new. Been 3yrs since I limped it home and drove it last.

Didn't die, justa refused to shift for whatever reason. Almost died in the clusterF...k yesterday. So the new webbing/wheel tie down I bought looked so thin as compared to the original, I went with the original wheel tie downs. Car slid right up there dropped in the pockets (unlike the Sunbird with the low front spoiler causing many probs) Now on que, the county drives by dumping cloride on the roads in a caustic muddy mess. So I idled the rolling circus the mile out to pavement. Stopped to see how much crap was on the GTO off the big rear tires (and how much I would be draggin into this guys shop.) There was nothing holding the GTO on the trailer!!! The wheel netting somehow slipped off. Repositioned the netting and added ratchet tie downs from frame to trailer. Now on Dixie (4 lane hwy in rush hour traffic) Shitting ribbons and pulled over in a lot to check straps, Kept speed to 45mph. Wheel netting is off again, left my new netting home. Repositioned again and added bungee straps to the inside of netting to hopefully keep in place. One of the ratchet straps had broken and was missing half. Dug through my trailer bag and grabbed my 4ft chain. Wrapped around frame to trailer and then tied with rope to keep the hooks on the chain. 2 more hair raising stops and I arrived at shop. Guy was standing there talking to me as I attempt to unload the GTO from the tangled mess. I cut the ropes and pulled the chains loose thinking the were off the car. Wrong. As I pulled the car off, the loose chain unwound and flipped up while going over the sway bar perfectly hooking my damn trans line to the radiator!!!! Instant explosion hosed down engine compartment and the street in front of his house in this million $$$ neighborhood. He ran N grabbed rags and I grabbed all the towels in my truck. He ran back to garage and came back with tube cutter and hunk of hose that let me drive the dripping mess into his shop. His show cars are incredible Pontiac's. Got back home and grabbed the bottle of dawn, dishsoap and grease buster extraordinaire and drove all the way back to scrubb the street and rinse with what I could from my 5 gallon water jug. You could not stand in the mess. Someone walking a dog would get hurt or someone driving through this mess could have lost control. Worst possible senerio.....He said the fluid smelled burnt. Looking at complete tear down. Even though I have 1st and reverse. Now looking at roadtrip to Inline tube. Don't know if stock tube will be the same length going to 200R4 as maybe to a stock 350 turbo.

Oh yea... the windshield logo I also got for Christmas.

Fixing the front wheels down on a ridged tow dolly makes the back wheels scrub and you might get away with that towing the sunbird , but the gto is wayyyyy heavier

NO the trailer frame N tires are fixed position. The wheel buckets for car being towed are separate and on a swivel. My problem was/is the tires. Those are L60 -14 (made for the rear of the car) I wanted the steamroller look. They are too wide for the webb/tire tie downs. Barely extended down the side walls. What made them slide off to the outside edge was a mystery. Adding bungee's to the inside of webb and connecting to the frame of the wheel buckets kept them on for the last leg of my trip with a chain backup.
